✍️ Springfield, Ohio, has experienced a transformation since receiving around 15,000 Haitian immigrants, who have contributed to the local economy and community. However, the city's future is uncertain due to the Trump administration's policies on immigration.
👉 Haitian immigrants have contributed to the local economy and community 👉 Many have obtained work permits and legal coverage through the TPS program 👉 TPS program has led to a growth in salaries and an increase in school enrollment 👉 Revitalization of community life and a sense of belonging among Haitian immigrants 👉 Trump administration's policies on immigration threaten to undo these gains 👉 Potential elimination of TPS program could leave many Haitian immigrants without legal status or protection
