✍️ A rare wooden carving by Barbara Hepworth has been saved for the nation after a successful appeal to raise £3.8m.
👉 The carving is one of only a handful of wooden carvings made by Hepworth during the 1940s 👉 It is one of the first major works she made using strings 👉 The government placed a temporary export ban on the work to prevent it from leaving the UK 👉 The Hepworth Wakefield museum has acquired the work with the help of over 2,800 public donations and several large grants
