✍️ The article discusses the surprising performance of Marlins prospect Jakob Marsee, who has a 1.414 OPS in his first 13 MLB games, and explores his plate discipline, power, and speed.
👉 Marsee's 1.414 OPS in his first 13 MLB games is a rare feat 👉 He has a good approach at the plate, with a 15.9% walk rate and 18.9% strikeout rate in Triple-A 👉 Marsee has elite marks for plate discipline, with a 10% swing rate at pitches out of the strike zone and a 89% contact rate on pitches in the strike zone 👉 He has a 93.2 mph average exit velocity, an elite mark 👉 Marsee has 24% of his batted balls in the air to the pull side, a skill that has always been there for him 👉 He has the speed to steal bases, with 47 steals in Triple-A and six steals in the majors 👉 Marsee is worth rostering in any league that counts steals as its own category, and is especially valuable in leagues that count on-base percentage rather than batting average
