✍️ The water regulator Ofwat is investigating claims that water companies in England and Wales are spending excessively on refurbishment projects, leading to higher bills for customers.
👉 Water companies in England and Wales are spending many times more on refurbishment projects than operators in comparable countries. 👉 Privatization of water companies has led to an overinflation of costs. 👉 Bills are expected to rise £123 on average this year, and further over the next five years. 👉 The regulator, Ofwat, is reviewing data and will ensure that water companies deliver value for money when building new infrastructure.
