✍️ The article discusses the impact of the federal government shutdown on federal workers, who were forced to go without pay for six weeks, and the relief they will receive once the shutdown is over.
👉 The shutdown affected hundreds of thousands of federal workers, with at least 670,000 furloughed and 730,000 working without pay 👉 The workers were used as leverage by the Trump administration to try to push Democrats to relent on their health care demands 👉 The shutdown created a cascade of troubles for many Americans, including flight disruptions and cuts to food aid 👉 The deal that ended the shutdown will reverse the dismissals that occurred since October 1 and ensure back pay for furloughed federal workers
