Used to be, on ios, when one installed #nostr, one had to run a special function to get zaps to be enabled.
Is this no longer a requirement?

I am looking for an old website, available around maybe 2015, by an ex-investment banker/analyst about bitcoin, some blogs of bitcoin’s benefits, and also a list of ten inventions that would be great for the bitcoin ecosystem (if they were to come true.) Does anyone remember this website or the investment banker woman’s name?

A non profit loves their subscription donations (e.g. flat monthly payments from the donor’s credit card for 12 months).
Is there an equivalent way in #bitcoin without defining the UTXO at the start or using a specialised wallet or 3rd party service? Ideally it doesn’t require the donor to approve but only the first time at the donation point.
For example, at a kiosk a donor decides to sign up for 12 months of payments, but doesn’t want the amount to leave their wallet until the beginning of every month for the next 12 months, but also doesn’t want the hassle of approving invoices each month in the future.
Any ideas?

Is there an insta-buy button using zaps in nostr, where someone posts something with an invoice, my delivery address is pre-populated in my “wallet” or in #damus with my information and when I see a post with something I like for sale I click the invoice, send the requisite zaps and the products on its way?
Wait a sec., nevermind. Bad idea.

What I like about #damus is it appears there is no algorithm for what is shown to me other than connections I have with others. Is this correct?

Is it possible to create a hypothetical basket of groceries and sundries, have a bit of code scrape the Walmart/Carrefour/Boots/Tesco/Daiso/CU websites for prices by prefecture/zip code, save the data over time and publicly available?
I would like inflation statistics to be more transparent and would pay for a subscription to that.

Is the npub value just the X coordinate of the ECDSA outcome? No prefixes or anything else before encoding to bech32?
I came across something in #nostr and may have it wrong, when encoding a private key to bech32 zeros are padded at the beginning of the 5-bit string in #bitcoin space, but in #nostr they are padded at the end of the 5-bit string. Is this correct and was there a reason for the change?
