- Fiscal Discipline: Radical Reduction of Government and Taxes
Fiat currency creates perverse incentives and enables unchecked government expansion, with endless currency inflation funding bloated bureaucracies, subsidies, and interventions. Canada's federal spending has ballooned to over $450 billion annually, fueled by debt and inflation, leading to high taxes that consume 40-50% of incomes. This inefficiency wastes resources on redundant programs, while eroding purchasing power.
Sound money, via its immutability and scarcity, enforces natural limits which radically shrink government through enforced discipline. Without the ability to inflate, expenditures must align with revenues, eliminating deficits and forcing prioritization of essentials. A 15% flat tax on earnings replaces the progressive system: 10% allocated locally for community needs like education, infrastructure, and healthcare, empowering provinces and municipalities; 5% directed nationally for defence, border security, and energy initiatives like sustainable grids and resource sovereignty.
This radical tax reduction boosts economic growth, as citizens retain earnings for innovation and savings. Local control reduces corruption, while national funds focus on protection against external threats and harnessing the nations oil and hydro energy resources for the benefit of citizens. Sound money's deflationary nature rewards savers, increasing wealth over time, and curtails government's incentive for overreach. The result is a lean, efficient government that serves rather than burdens, enhancing affordability and prosperity for all Canadians.
