That’s how I celebrated Bitcoin Pizza Day 🍕 on 22nd May
Bitcoin Pizza Day is celebrated to commemorates the day (22 May 2010) when Laszlo Hanyecz, a Florida based programmer, bought two Papa John’s pizzas for 10,000 BTC (a seemingly insignificant amount back then).
Why does this day matter?
-
First Real-World Transaction: This was the first time Bitcoin was used to buy something in the real world, proving its value beyond just a digital concept.
-
Big Ideas Start Small: That simple pizza purchase showed how small beginnings can lead to big changes. Bitcoin has come a long way, growing into a major financial force.
Bitcoin Pizza Day isn't just about remembering a quirky transaction. It’s a reminder of Bitcoin’s incredible journey and how it’s re shaping finance and challenging traditional notions of money.
