(During automatic the brain writing enters a dissociated, altered state

of consciousness

In standard writing, the Prefrontal Cortex (PFC) acts as an inner editor. It plans sentences, checks grammar, and

During automatic writing the PFC experiences widespread deactivation. ideomotor effect.

A psychological phenomenon where a subject makes

subconscious

microscopic muscle movements.

The brain prepares the motor commands to write a word before you are consciously aware of the thought.

In automatic writing, the motor command is executed by the motor cortex, but the conscious mind fails to register the intent, making the hand seem to move entirely on its own.
