MOVIES, MOVIES, MOVIES! (and some other stuff)

Hello ghouls,
How are you over there? Are you spreading joy and being respectful at the same time? Great, thatās my jam too.
As you may have noticed already, Iāve been getting cozy with the season by watching horror movies and reading a few spooky novels and Iāve been loving it. You can check out my previous update here ->Ā Hello, my children of the night.
So, letās see what Iāve been into lately, in no particular order:
Last time, I forgot to mention that my husband and I watched the extended versions ofĀ The Lord of the RingsĀ movies, and it was magical, whimsical, and full of wonder. It was fun noticing which scenes were added and how much depth they brought to the films, like when Legolas explains that Lembas fills your belly with just one bite. I read the books a gazillion years ago, so maybe I should revisit them⦠I canāt remember whether that detail is explained there, but I love how it makes sense that they only had, like, three loaves of Lembas for the entire trip. I know itās hyperbole, but still!
In general, I love these movies more every time I watch them, Ā especially Sam. Heās the real MVP. Tolkien said so himself! But donāt get me wrong: they all play a big part and contribute to the story in different ways. I guess thatās the code of the Sams in real life.
Which leads me to one of the movies I watched recently:Ā Satanic Panic. I thought I was going to watch something reminiscent of the infamous 80's, 90's cases of alleged satanic vandalism, but it turned out to be funny and fun. I loved the splatter, the sprinkled-in horror, and the protagonist⦠Sam. Like I said: Sams united! š«”
We also watchedĀ The Babysitter: Killer Queen. I watched the first movie during the summer, and I didnāt like it quite as much, but this one was actually funny, 10/10 on the splatter. I enjoyed it way more than the first one. A bunch of kids at some kind of party in the middle of nowhere start playing some funky games, only to find out there are some crashers who definitely do not bring good news. What could go wrong?Ā
We also only watched half ofĀ DeathgasmĀ because, halfway through, my husband was the one who noticed we had already watched it. It was kind of a bummer because then I remembered too, heheh. Either way, it was entertaining,Ā just a kidĀ trying to make it.
Throughout all this,Ā I built a sunrise lampĀ and Iām also working on my art blog. Iām reworking a new blog entry, so stay tuned. š„³Ā
Hopefully itāll be ready soon(ish). If youāre too giddy to wait (so am I), you can check out some of my spooky blog entries:Ā
