A Book I Shouldāve Read a Long Time Ago (And You Should Too)

Hi frens! š¦
š Howās your weekend starting out? Iāve been painting and reading, and Iām super excited to share that I finally finished Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton!
š Iām still working on the art of convincing people to read a book without spoiling it, but Iāll do my best here.
š Let me just say: the book is so much better than the movie (and thatās saying something, because the movie will always have a special place in my heart). The novel is basically one cliffhanger after anotherāI was absolutely hooked! Thereās nonstop adventure and so much tension as the characters dodge dinosaurs at every turn.
I was pleasantly surprised by how the characters react to the dinosaurs in the book. I love Ian Malcolmās character even more hereāhis warnings about the park being a disaster waiting to happen are even sharper and more compelling. I thought Dr. Grant would come to the same conclusion as Malcolm a bit sooner, but as a paleontologist, heās understandably in aweāthis is the pinnacle of his career, after all! Unlike Malcolm, he has less time to process the reality of prehistoric creatures walking the earth again.
The characters are all a bit different (sometimes a LOT different) from their movie versions, but it works so well. If I could change one thing, I would have loved to see Dr. Sattler play a bigger role throughout the novel.
š All in all, Iām so glad I finally read it. Thereās action, adventure, dinosaurs, humans being humans, and a sprinkle of science and deep questions about the consequences of our actions. I was hooked from start to finish.
If you havenāt read it yet, I hope you give yourself the chanceādonāt wait as long as I did!
See you later, alligator š
āØGodspeed! By the way, I wrote and painted some dinosaurs here š just in case you want to know more about dinosaurs, just like it happened to me!
