Yo, it’s 4:30, where’s the sun going?

Spotted in #CambridgeMA around #MIT.

It’s also odd that when confronted, some LLM users in denial but who claim to be anti-fascist will react defensively in a rather vicious manner.

It’s almost as if they’re just being performative.

Changing my Saturday morning routine to include a trip to the Boston Athenaeum.

Good morning Boston.

After a very long journey of listening, research, and auditioning, I’ve settled on this setup:

CODA s5.5 50W Class A amp. CODA 07x FET preamp. Philharmonic BMR monitors with RAAL ribbon tweeter.

One of the best investments I’ve made lately.

They can’t and they won’t!

FOMO, clout chasing, and lack of technical understanding of how these networks operate prevent even well meaning folks from getting out of their own way.

They’ll continue to use the same networks owned by the very people they’re attempting to hold accountable and hit you with a surprised Pikachu face when their accounts get banned by those same billionaires.

It never fails. It’s so embarrassing.

Looks like Roxy’s drama is being covered by the news?

WHY THE FUCK IS ANYONE STILL COORDINATING ANTI-FASCIST PROTESTS AND ACTIVISM ON FASCIST/BILLIONAIRE OWNED SOCIAL NETWORKS?

HAS NO ONE LEARNED THEIR LESSON?

You can cry all you want about stuff like this happening, but they'll just do it again and again and wonder why their message isn't being heard.

Clout chasing is a disease.

You never see these types of signs with Mario on them.

That's because Nintendo's main representative lives in a castle and protects the monarch class, while Sonic fights for the environment, people and animals.

I stand with Sonic.

I still laugh whenever I read about activists trying to use billionaire owned social media as the primary avenue to criticize those very same billionaires, then being shocked when they are silenced and censored by those they where attempting to hold accountable.

What exactly did they expect to happen?

Does anyone (preferably within the US) want my Vidar 2F amp?

$$849 (with Forkbeard) retail, I'm asking $500 + Shipping or ping me with a credible offer.

Mint condition, used for 8 months.

Just unpacked 50 watts of pure Class A power.

The CODA s5.5 is now on my desk, all 48 lbs of it powering my Philharmonic BMR Monitor speakers.

I’m in the process of capturing my rather rare and unavailable #Japanese Paris to Dakar rally #laserdiscs from the 80s and 90s. Using a CLD-59 #Laserdisc player -> RetroTink4K (for scaling and deinterlacing) -> HDMI capture device -> OBS capturing to ProRes422. I’ll convert to appropriate formats, take photos of all covers and insert material, and upload to Internet Archive.

Many of these laserdiscs have never been archived anywhere before. Truly rare, forgotten, and lost media.

The recent praise of X by @daringfireball is the most exposure John Gruber has had in a decade.

It’s kind of sad, really.

Imagine being so consumed by FOMO that you write an entire blog post of monumental cope just to deal with it.

Spotted a friendly little guy in #CambridgeMA at #MIT.

It’s a beautiful day for an evening stroll in #Boston.

With autumn approaching and leaves falling, it’s that time of year again where our #MeshCore network link budgets are increasing, and we’re seeing some incredible connections happen as we’ve increased the density of repeaters over the last year.

We now have a very solid network in New England with many redundant links.

We’re seeing traffic from Albany via north and south paths.

We’ve been trying to plan region scopes in New England, but repeater provisioning and adoption is a bit difficult.

This is important.

Prick is great.

Everyone should give this a little taste and see if they like it.

I’ve been seeing this car with tons of sensors on it driving around #CambridgeMA all day. It looks less like a Waymo more like an #MIT experiment.

Anyone know what’s going on?

Johnny’s for #Pinball?

Absolutely.

Let’s not forget the time Starbug hacked TouchID.

Of course this was over 10 years ago. I wonder how updated techniques would work. If I remember correctly, he got a job at Apple helping to improve the security of TouchID and FaceID over the years.

RE: https://vox.ominous.net/@occult/115995603025611650

Re-Boosting this because I feel like it's very relevant lately.

I bought this #Japanese-language-only #LaserDisc from 1986: PARIS-DAKAR 15,000 栄光への挑戦, a 1 hour #documentary following the 8th Paris–Dakar Rally. It has no closed captions or english subtitles.

I’m using my iPhone’s live translation to listen to a 40-year-old Japanese LaserDisc in English in real time, because apparently we live in the future now.

This is straight out of The Hitchhiker’s Guide.

There’s no complete rip anywhere on the internet, I’ll be fixing that soon.

Clout chasing is a dangerous addiction, and that is why so many of them ended up on BlueSky.

This whole thread about coercing (asking nicely) the Meta Muse chatbot into dumping its entire VM is pretty hilarious.

Updated my website:

Added my Philharmonic Cantabile and BMR Monitor speakers and my LaserDisc home theater setup. I'm currently reading Joanne Berry's The Complete Pompeii.

I'm working on another essay and continuing to document a few projects.

Some Cactus Canyon multiball #pinball action at Roxy’s in #CambridgeMA with my buddy Fred this evening.
