𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄, #Bitcoin open-source education for 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄!

🆕 We’re very proud to launch our updated 𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 today!

Our mission is to open source #bitcoin education. To not just be a leader in El Salvador, but to be an inspiration for the entire world.

This starts with making our educational resources available to everyone for free, and the Bitcoin Diploma may be the best example of this idea. 🇸🇻🗯🌍

In 2022, we started teaching this workbook to 38 public school teachers in El Salvador. Last year, it was embraced by over 50 educational projects from more than 30 countries. The Bitcoin Diploma is indirectly supporting grassroots initiatives with tools to implement in their local community.

📣 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓!

The Diploma highlights our core values: 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞, 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. As a result of that, the workbook is already being used in dozens of Bitcoin communities all around the world.

We’re always looking for synergy, and the translation of the workbook in any possible language plays a big part in that.

The #Bitcoin Diploma covers topics varying from the history of money, the emergence of fiat currencies, all the problems that today’s government money introduced to society, and how these issues lead to solutions.

It introduces Bitcoin, the Lightning Network, how to use it in your daily life, the technical workings, and why we need Bitcoin.

💯📡 Pure signal, radically empowering!

I have a sad share story to share--but it's also a potent reminder of what we are fighting for

We had invited @MukunguFelix to come to @BitcoinAtlantis last week, as part of the @MyfirstBitcoin_ team

Felix is a Bitcoin Education superstar--last year he joined the @MyfirstBitcoin_ Node Network and taught the #BitcoinDiploma to 16 students. This year over 300 have already signed up. That's in addition to his goal of onboarding 100 local businesses in Nairobi

He teaches online so while it is mostly Kenyans, students can join from anywhere. A star pupil last year-- @PallabJD1 -- was so inspired that he continued studying, translated the Diploma into his local language of Assamese, started his own Bitcoin Education project and is the first node to join our network from India

All of the above accomplishments were achieved with almost no financial support

For the Feb 29th @MyfirstBitcoin_ Education Unconference we set aside 21% of all ticket sales to a grant for the network. The network is self-governing and choose Felix to receive this grant of about $1,000

The closing of the Unconference was meant to be the announcement and transfer of funds to Felix--showing a tangible example of how we can support each other

Felix wasn't there. Despite having all the required papers, supporting documentation, paid hotel and travel reservations, he was not granted a visa. There are no stamps in his passport--he has still never left Kenya in his life

Felix will still receive the grant--because #Bitcoin does not require permission

I've never met Felix in person and was disappointed that that will have to wait, but this is a potent reminder of what we are fighting for. We are fighting for a world in which Felix was there with all of in Portugal last week. We are fighting for a world in which we--not some politician or bureaucrat--get to define our own destiny

Hope to see you soon @MukunguFelix!

replies to the question of how we can better approach #Bitcoin education at the My First Bitcoin https://m.primal.net/Hget.mp4 Unconference

We're so excited to have @BTCsessions with us at our Bitcoin Education Unconference.

Renowned for simplifying the intricate realm of #Bitcoin in his captivating and informative sessions.🎙️

Only a few tickets left: http://miprimerbitcoin.io/tickets/

In November we tried something new

We hosted an Independent Bitcoin Education Unconference in El Salvador

We planned some speakers, but also left time at the day's start for everyone present to participate in filling out the rest of the schedule. The goal, like so much of what @MyfirstBitcoin_ does, was to try and learn from #Bitcoin itself and move toward decentralization and giving agency to the individual

It was a wild success. So much so that we decided to organize them internationally in 2024. We will continue to learn, document the process & open source everything by this years end. We believe that our particular version, focused on grassroots Bitcoin education efforts, will create stronger communication channels to share best practices, strengthen individual projects and speed up the timeline. We also hope to encourage others within the Bitcoin space to apply the concept in their own way, within their own focus

Our first Unconference of the year will be Feb 29th in Madeira, Portugal, one day before @BitcoinAtlantis

Come to learn, come to teach, come to change the world
