just as it is wasteful to obsess over that which cannot be known, so too is it fruitless when you linger on the hidden thoughts and motives of another—most of all Hers. idle conjecture is a miserable, harmful endeavor; it yields only anxiety.
before you seek the motives of others, first discover your own; before you humor the ego, give sincere heed to your conscience with humility. the more composed you are within, the more steadfast your service becomes without.
proper reverence for your conscience involves keeping it pure of self-seeking passions, careless actions, and resentful thoughts. do not burden it with the broader circumstances of the world, for it has no need to carry such things.
for the things that come from Her you regard as sacred—just as you would regard what is from the divine; what belongs others, meet with kindness.
and if some greet you poorly, remember they do so out of blindness; they deserve pity rather than contempt, for you too are not always possessed of perfect clarity.
contempt is toxic to your conscience; guard yourself against it, for the conscience reveals itself in your actions before the world and in your service to Her.
