TLDR: Historians trace four identical storylines: 1️⃣ “Global Jewish finance cabal”
2️⃣ “Jazz & media as moral decay”
3️⃣ “Press manipulation conspiracy”
4️⃣ “Work as racial purification”

📰 1 Ford’s Publication → “The International Jew”

Between 1920 and 1927 Ford’s Dearborn Independent ran ninety-one installments of a series blaming Jews for “world control.”

He paid editors and researchers to stitch together fabrications from older European conspiracy tracts (notably The Protocols of the Elders of Zion).

Ford then issued the articles as four volumes under the title “The International Jew: The World’s Foremost Problem.”

Every #Ford #dealer was required to display or sell them; more than #500,000 copies circulated in the U.S. and abroad.

⸻

🇩🇪 2 Translation and German Reception

•	German publishers translated the work in 1922 (Der Internationale Jude).

•	The book found its way into völkisch (ultra-nationalist) circles already obsessed with racial purity.

•	German newspapers sympathetic to the nascent Nazi Party praised Ford as the only American who “understood the Jewish question.”

•	By 1925 the Nazi publisher Theodor Fritsch was distributing Ford’s volumes alongside Mein Kampf.

⸻

🧠 3 Hitler’s Personal Admiration

Adolf Hitler referenced Ford by name in Mein Kampf (1925), writing:

“Only a single great man, Ford, to their credit, still maintains full independence from the Jewish influence.”

In 1931 interviewers from Detroit News found a portrait of Henry Ford hanging in Hitler’s Munich office.

Hitler told them he regarded Ford as “my inspiration.”

When Hitler seized power in 1933, he sent Ford a personal birthday medal—the Grand Cross of the German Eagle, the highest honor the regime could bestow on a foreigner.

⸻

🏭 4 Ideological Parallels in Nazi Policy

Nazi racial theorists adopted Ford’s economic-moral framing:

•	“Purity through productivity.” Ford’s assembly-line discipline became a metaphor for national cleansing.

•	“Foreign corruption.” The International Jew accused Jews of ruining music, finance, and youth culture; Nazi propaganda recycled nearly identical lines.

•	Mass-production of lies. #Goebbels’s ministry modeled some of its serialized press campaigns on #Ford’s newspaper format—short, repeating narratives with a moral veneer of “hygiene.”

We call this a

#truth #sandwich Wick campaign 😂😂😂 ⸻

💣 5 Corporate Entanglement

Ford Motor Company’s German subsidiary (Ford-Werke AG) operated throughout the 1930s, producing vehicles for the Wehrmacht.

Although the U.S. parent claimed minimal control after 1939, historians note that Ford’s antisemitic reputation gave the company prestige in Nazi eyes and eased its operations under the regime.

⸻

⚖️ 6 Aftermath & Legacy • Jewish groups in the U.S. sued Ford for libel in 1927; his lawyer-written apology ended The Dearborn Independent but not the book’s life.

•	The International Jew remained in print in Germany through the 1940s and resurged online in extremist circles today.

•	Modern scholars treat it as one of the three key English-language sources that fed Nazi antisemitism (alongside Protocols and Houston Stewart Chamberlain’s Foundations of the 19th Century).

Historians trace four identical storylines: 1️⃣ “Global Jewish finance cabal”
2️⃣ “Jazz & media as moral decay”
3️⃣ “Press manipulation conspiracy”
4️⃣ “Work as racial purification”

Each appears in Nazi propaganda almost word-for-word after Ford’s series.

Ford’s factories built cars. His paper built myths that helped build fascism.

Innovation ≠ morality. Genius ≠ good.
