Proof of Reserves is the new gold standard. The excuses don't cut it anymore. It's time for everyone to demand transparency from their custodians and move the industry forward. https://river.com/reserves

New article: How Should a Business Store Bitcoin? https://river.com/learn/how-should-a-business-store-bitcoin/

We are entering an era where both #Bitcoin and USD will play key roles in the average American's financial life. The coming years will see a fascinating interplay between Gresham's law, fiat protocol stickiness, and geopolitics. Hang on tight.

I love Uruguay and Argentina. Wonderful culture, food, and people.

Test from Uruguay https://nostr.build/i/nostr.build_9892a2ee24b2231b5d13426c81303f825e2463afaa8eb8af38063ffe8c8cb66f.jpg

Some people post so much on here I’m forced to block them or unfollow them because my feed is basically 80% their posts.

Just cleaned up inbox after a few weeks of procrastinating. Feels good.

Damus is not very functional for me anymore. Been playing with removing potentially bad relays and it doesn’t help much. Any ideas?

Apocalypto has to be one of the most underrated films of all time

I want to start boxing competitively but I can’t justify the negative EV for my brain.

Trapped in the Closet by R Kelly is such a masterpiece.

after reading the DID spec I’m bearish on the UX. did:nostr:randomkey is very unaesthetic and the lnurl email lookalike format seems much more reasonable despite the dns requirement. tell me why I’m wrong.

Damus is the only social media app I have on my phone

We completed LND DB compaction last night at River. Largest routing node DB went from ~17GB to ~7.6GB. Bulk season is over.

My boxing skills keep steadily improving 🥊

If I had to invest in music genres I would only invest in latin music and kpop. Those are up only. Hop hop will decline over next decade imo.

some of these NY bodegas got bussin food fr fr. basically eat there every day. custom sandwiches, great prices, fresh fruit, they know my order when I walk in. 10/10 experience

The content on Nostr is so much more genuine and has way better vibes than Twitter. Nobody trying to be an influencooor.

I love getting back into coding. Balancing a little project like Nostrex with CEO duties is very feasible and it keeps me in touch with the realities of building software.

My next task will be implementing better monitoring instrumentation to Nostrex to prepare for brining it into production

We just updated Bitcoinex (our Elixir bitcoin lib) to support Schnorr signatures. That means it can now be used for Nostr tooling!! Elixir is an excellent and approachable language for highly concurrent socket-based systems. https://github.com/RiverFinancial/bitcoinex

Learning so many languages today

I love working on Nostrex on quiet Sunday evenings!

Just shipped configurable IP-based rate limiting for event creating, filter creation and socket connection for Nostrex: https://github.com/RiverFinancial/nostrex/pull/7

Going to start taking a little creatine. Beast mode 2023 confirmed.

I love being around people with different world views than me. However, when somebody is oversocialized I have a difficult time enjoying their company.

It’s wild how much music is out there. My friends show me their top artists and I’ve usually never heard of most of them.
