Be there or be square!

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

• Dune, Frank Herbert

Shockingly Nostr has become more valuable to me than bitcoin…

I’ve always hated that question too. Thanks for the suggestion of something else to ask other people too!

Just this morning's Spurgeon's Morning & Evening is helpful.

Christian, you ought not to dread the arrival of evil tidings; because if you are distressed by them, what do you more than other men?

Other men have not your God to fly to; they have never proved his faithfulness as you have done, and it is no wonder if they are bowed down with alarm and cowed with fear: but you profess to be of another spirit; you have been begotten again unto a lively hope, and your heart lives in heaven and not on earthly things; now, if you are seen to be distracted as other men, what is the value of that grace which you profess to have received? Where is the dignity of that new nature which you claim to possess?

Again, if you should be filled with alarm, as others are, you would, doubtless, be led into the sins so common to others under trying circumstances. The ungodly, when they are overtaken by evil tidings, rebel against God; they murmur, and think that God deals hardly with them. Will you fall into that same sin? Will you provoke the Lord as they do?

Moreover, unconverted men often run to wrong means in order to escape from difficulties, and you will be sure to do the same if your mind yields to the present pressure. Trust in the Lord, and wait patiently for him.

Your wisest course is to do as Moses did at the Red Sea, “Stand still and see the salvation of God.” For if you give way to fear when you hear of evil tidings, you will be unable to meet the trouble with that calm composure which nerves for duty, and sustains under adversity.

How can you glorify God if you play the coward? Saints have often sung God’s high praises in the fires, but will your doubting and desponding, as if you had none to help you, magnify the Most High?

Then take courage, and relying in sure confidence upon the faithfulness of your covenant God, “let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

You're right. That He was hated first, how much more will they hate us. It's not an easy thing to bear under being hated. But it should give me comfort that I am not alone. Thanks, friend!

It’s interesting to me how frequently this has been happening to me lately. I’ve been trying to understand what exactly is prompting either me to notice it more, or for people to be hating me more. I’m wondering if this is a test of my faith and conviction.

I knew I would be hated for my faith in Christ, but it seems strange to be hated for being so intense about freedom tools like privacy tool, Nostr, and Bitcoin.

Anyways, I guess I should be work at having a thicker skin and not caring what people think, even people who care about me. Maybe this is God’s way of preparing me for something deeper and even more intense.

Anyways, GN Nostr.

Stop regretting that you lost that time. Don’t dwell on it and don’t ruminate. This is where the devil wants you to be: disappointed, discouraged, and depressed.

Instead, look to the Truth. Look to Him and learn from your mistakes. Make every effort to never let that happen again. You may fail, but you must try again. Keep failing, pay the consequences, move on, and run back to Him. He will never run out of forgiveness!

“I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? It comes from the Lord!”

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

So I created my first real-ish app! You can preview a custom-colored

I'm disappointed that yet another wallet has had a serious vulnerability. Ledger had its customer data leaked, and now ColdCard has a massive code problem. I feel very bad for those who have lost funds due to the latest vulnerability. I'll continue to spread the word about

so this never happens again.

Don't get caught in yet another hardware wallet vulnerability! Use Open-Source code to self-custody your Bitcoin. Custody your Bitcoin as it was designed to be. Build yourself a SeedSigner. Source your own parts or buy a kit. I'm currently out of stock, but I'll have more soon.

I love the custom hat! I know that some people at my meetup are also interested it, so I'm going to try to talk up your shop for you!

I've dubbed it "Project Satsuma". It is actually WORKING!! Woo! I've got a proof of concept working, but now I need to work on the AP mode for headless first-time setup and then round out the design of the User Interface and Display. I'm getting excited and starting to prep for putting it up on GitHub. I'm currently just storing it on a self-hosted Forgejo instance. I'm taking my cue from #seedsigner to make it open-source and use all off-the-shelf parts.

We are not Ascetics.

We are wholistic Creations of God in His Image: Soul, Spirit, and Flesh. We were created to be perfect, but have been corrupted by sin, inside and out. Christ redeems all aspects of ourselves, but we are still corrupt in this world. We will be glorified for eternal perfect communion with God.
