Another trip around the sun, another album written and recorded. With Red Arrow Highway keeping me real busy it was nice to squirrel myself away in the studio and work on solo stuff in my spare time. I hope you like it, I give to you the song Passive Fists off of the album The Wedding.

Red Arrow Highway got our first review back on our record and I have to admit it made me tear up in my cube at work. Not like an uncomfortable amount, not like an HR complaint amount, but I did get misty eyed a little. We spent years on this thing and to see it getting so much love is incredibly heartwarming. My band Red Arrow Highway has started releasing singles for our upcoming album. So far just one, but it’ll give you an idea of the quality of this record. We put our hearts and souls, and wallets into it. Hope you enjoy this one and if you can think of someone who might like it send it over to them. More to come, thanks!

Very refreshing to hear I’m not the only one that struggles with this technology. I switched from Alby to Fountain a while back and I’m waiting for the day that I can upload fiat to Fountain directly and it is converted to sats there. Jukeboxes do it, you buy “credits” and then you can use those credits to play songs. Maybe a system like that? Anyway, very interesting conversation.

Thanks for being great Mike.

I also want to interject about the AI music. I don’t understand why anyone would take the joy of creating away from themselves by having a computer write for them. I mean, isn’t that the whole point?!?!?!

I’ll play along, hoping to win some AirPods as I mowed mine this summer. As in I mowed them with my lawnmower on accident.

New release - The Poet Barfly

The drunk at the bar next to you is determined to ruin your silent reflection. Their blabbering slowly evolves from gibberish to coherent, and from coherent to brilliant. They have tapped into exactly what you needed to hear somehow. An annoyance turned therapy.

I asked the kids for a topic to write a song about. One of their friends in that dejected and sad voice that only a 17 year old girl can make says, “fake love.” She then went on a very heartfelt rant about why she feels that way. So, I present to you Fake Love.

As always I'm blown away by the generosity of this community, I didn't think anyone would listen to this let alone get me in the top ten over at Wavlake. I wrote this song for my wife as she deals with losing her beloved cousin Rose. It's the first song I've ever written where I couldn't sing it all in one take due to falling apart mid-way. Thanks for listening, you all are the best.

Just released Don't Worry, You Still Have Time To Ruin It on Wavlake. This one sounds better loud. Annoyingly loud. Downstairs neighbor banging on their ceiling with a broom loud. It was fun to make, so I hope you have fun listening to it.

Getting psyched for the Satellite Skirmish this Sunday.

It's a livestreamed video battle of the bands linked to your lightning wallets. Should be a good time, live hosts and great bands. Consider boosting the shit out of Death by Lions, I'm a pacifist, but I also love winning things.

It's big productions like this that will help to grow this community, see you Sunday!

DDNJ=Dave Daniele and Nate Johnivan Dave had some music without vocals and I love nothing more than being given a canvas that already has a beautiful background on it and all I have to do is fill in the foreground with some lyrics and vocals. Here's the first couple we made.

I hope you enjoy this cover of the Bright Eyes song, Bowl of Oranges. It was very fun to record and collaborate with my friend Austin.

I wrote this album as one long story, but then thought it would be wierd to put it out as one long track. Then I thought fuck it, and put it out on Wavlake as one long song and it's been creeping up the "trending" chart, further proving to me to "always do the wierd thing." If you have a sec go give this one some love for me. https://wavlake.com/track/c9c72c6c-0cdd-4f93-a1b5-acb0d437bf84

It’s my birthday week, my gift to you, a four song album that I’ve been laboring over for months. It’s a concept album chronicling the journey of a good kids road out of an unstable home and into the foster care system. Even if it doesn’t relate directly I think you can find bits and pieces of yourself in there. Wanted to release it early for all you nostriches.

@wavlake

I have a song that’s ready to put out but I’m looking for some help with the album art.

It’s called You Should Waste It, and it’s about the joys of wasting time when you’re young. Please comment any picture you may have that you think would work for the cover and I’ll consider using it. Thanks in advance Nostriches.

We played a show with Bong Mountain a while ago and I got to say the best joke I've ever had on stage. As we got ready to start I said, "Let's give it up for Bong Mountain? What a stupid band name... We're Monkey Robot War." One guy went "HA!" and thats the beginning and end of my standup career.

Anyway, the drummer and bassist of Bong Mountain came over one Saturday as well as my co-writer Justin and we wrote this song. Not polished up, but we decided it's better that way.

One of the kids dated this peculiar kid for a couple weeks. I was showing him around the studio and he asked for a notepad and he started feverishly writing down the “parts” of a song. He was broken up with in a week, but I found the notebook and tried to write the song he had written down. The only lyric he had was “back road.”
