We’ve shipped the majority of our preorders, with only 14 orders remaining.

We’re just waiting for the remaining orders to be claimed before they leave our hands.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us and waited patiently throughout this process.

A quick reminder: we still have some preorders waiting to be claimed.

We’d love to get them all shipped out and into our customers’ hands.

Check your email for the details and follow the instructions to complete your order.

FINALLY! We've sent out the shipping notification to the last order in our queue. We know this took MUCH longer than planned, and we really appreciate your patience.

If you have not yet received an email from us with instructions to have your order shipped, please write to [email protected].

Please note: this excludes the OG Edition, which we're still hard at work to produce and ship.

If you placed an order before May 2025, you may still have an unclaimed machine waiting. Please check your inbox for an email from [email protected].

Preorder customers 📦

Shipping is underway again and orders are going out first-in, first-out.

Keep an eye on your inbox 👀 we’ll email you as soon as your order is ready to ship.

While we’re working out our international shipping issues (e.g. "is there Russian steel in your plates?"), we’re sending out as many orders as possible to Switzerland.

DM us your order number if you are willing to receive your order in Switzerland!

Merry Christmas! Preorder shipments to the EU and USA are temporarily paused due to customs return issues. Short term we’re using workarounds; long term we’re relocating production to a more shipping-friendly country.

After more than a year of iterative design and testing, our electronics have progressed through multiple PCB revisions - evolving from the Raspberry Pi Pico 1 to a fully custom design built around the RP2350 chip, designed with KiCad and manufactured by JLCPCB.

We are finally shipping!

Everyone that ordered on or before December 22 should have received an email with instructions.

We are shipping from Switzerland and have postponed US shipping until the tariffs issue settle.

We’re getting 16 units ready to ship to the warehouse. The EU → rest-of-world process is still being finalized.

US customers have to wait while tariff systems settle. We’ll post shipping prices on our website and start sending individual orders as soon as possible.

We're raising the price of the SeedHammer II machine soon. If you're still on the fence, act now to get a machine at the pre-order price.

We had hoped to keep the current price after the pre-order phase, but it's now clear to us that we need to work on raising sales volume first.

We're big fans of codex32 at SeedHammer. Hand-computable, built in Shamir's secret splitting and fixes several shortcomings in BIP39 (Ctrl-F "trainwreck" in https://secretcodex32.com/faq/).

The SeedHammer machine may be the first hardware to support codex32. Below is the engraving of 2 codex32 Shamir shares that combine to a master secret.

We also wrote a command line utility and library for manipulating codex32 shares and derive BIP85 data. See https://go.dev/play/p/umS28lD8R0Q (press "Run" to see output) or use a terminal (you need Go installed):

Install the biptool command line tool: $ go install seedhammer.com/cmd/biptool@latest $ export PATH=$PATH:~/go/bin

Encode a secret with threshold 2. Usually a random key, but in our case a sentence: $ echo "Codex32 is what we do"| biptool seed -seedlen 22 -id secr -threshold 2 ms12secrsgdhkgetcxvezq6tnypmksct5ypmk2grydu9qqd7chr26ruhsn

Encode share #1: $ head -c 22 /dev/urandom | biptool seed -seedlen 22 -id secr -threshold 2 -idx a ms12secras2eph54xt3tkzjhrnp8g8k2zpaq5rrgqzu2sfvvug3l4xxqqc

Derive share #2: $ biptool interpolate -idx c

Enter the secret share and share #1, finish with Ctrl-D

ms12secrsgdhkgetcxvezq6tnypmksct5ypmk2grydu9qqd7chr26ruhsn ms12secras2eph54xt3tkzjhrnp8g8k2zpaq5rrgqzu2sfvvug3l4xxqqc ms12secrca5vwy33zw9af9w5jupyvgra6c7ang0ywqugpzm6jm8hhlv035

Now you have two Shamir shares for your secret. Combine them to extract the secret: $ biptool derive seed

Enter share #1 and #2, finish with Ctrl-D

ms12secras2eph54xt3tkzjhrnp8g8k2zpaq5rrgqzu2sfvvug3l4xxqqc ms12secrca5vwy33zw9af9w5jupyvgra6c7ang0ywqugpzm6jm8hhlv035 Codex32 is what we do

Don't have a terminal? Play along in the browser: https://go.dev/play/p/umS28lD8R0Q . Edit the program, press "Run" and see output below the code box.

You’ll get an email when your order’s up - with a link to confirm shipping details and pay for delivery.

Appreciate your patience!

Any customers who are going to BTCZitadelle next Wednesday: please send us a DM to check the possibility of picking up your order there.

Join us at our booth at

where we show off the SeedHammer II and how easy it is to engrave a seed through a NFC device such as a

wallet Q or Mk4.

All orders will receive a 5% discount in the

store.

@SeedMint21 found a remarkable One Weird Trick™ for enhancing the readability of QR codes on our steel plates.

Use a regular pencil to fill the QR code and then wipe off any extra material. No special pen required.

After vs before:

As promised, we're open sourcing the SeedHammer II hardware design files:

https://github.com/seedhammer/hardware

This includes the CAD STEP files as well as PCB schematics and layout in KiCad format.

Enjoy! And let us know if you find any mistakes as we move to production.

We're in the process of producing a larger batch of SH02 plates (with mounting holes for the original machine). If you want any, please DM so we include your plates in the batch.

Completed a major overhaul of the graphics subsystem of the microcontroller firmware.

Drawing first frame: Before: 1800 msec (~0.6FPS) After: 40 msec (~25 FPS) = 45x speedup.

We expect another 2-3x speedup when switching to the faster rp2350 MCU and use both cores for drawing.

Lovely update from our engineer, casually creating the FrankenHammer while waiting for functional electronics and firmware.

Announcing SeedHammer II

Compact, light and operated by builtin touchscreen, this is the machine we wanted when starting SeedHammer.

Preorder here:

• https://geyser.fund/project/seedhammerii (lightning)
• https://seedhammer.com/shop (on-chain)

SeedHammer II is smaller than a 21cm cube and less than 4kg so you can fit it in a backpack. The large LCD and touchscreen eliminate the need for an external controller.

The control board and LCD are designed to be replaced, so you can safely share a SeedHammer II. A replacement kit is $89, comparable to the cost of a manual engraving kit.

The SeedHammer II OG limited edition is for you with the means to support the project. In return we will ship to you 1 of the 21 high-quality machines, and print your name or alias on every control board produced during the fundraiser.
