For long-term Bitcoiners, this builds confidence that no matter what happens in the world (be it regulatory crackdowns, energy crises, or advances in computing), Bitcoin will self-adjust and continue. In a poetic sense, the difficulty adjustment is like Bitcoin’s immune system, responding to stressors and ensuring the organism (the network) not only survives but often comes out healthier. #bitcoin
even if only 10 laptops were mining Bitcoin, it would still keep chugging along, adjusting difficulty until blocks are found – implying you can’t break Bitcoin by shrinking it; it will simply scale down and survive, then scale up again. This property – to not just withstand shocks but adapt to them – is a hallmark of antifragility.
