Hey everyone! We've seen an overwhelming amount of interest over the weekend and our servers have been absolutely straining to keep up. We've pushed some code to optimize things, but at the current rate we have to shell out some money for better memory on the servers, although we can't really afford to.
If you are able to help pitch in, please head over to https://mirlo.space/team/support
Thank you and we really do appreciate all of your support! ❤️🐦⬛

"The European Mapping Project on Ownership Concentration in Live Music aims to make visible who owns which stages and to situate this evidence within wider cultural and competition policy debates...
...they invite institutions, professionals, and citizens to ask a simple question: when we buy a ticket for a festival or a concert, who do we really support, and what kind of ecosystem do we want for live music in Europe?"

We're going to put together a resource for musicians on how they can have album art without using large language models. Do you have any resources you'd like to see in that? Free image libraries? Friends who can help do design? Basic how-tos?

It's our birthday today. 🎉
Two years ago today, we filed the paperwork for Mirlo to officially become a legal entity. We're so grateful and humbled by everyone who has contributed to the experiment since then. Here's to many more years making music together on the internet! 🐦⬛🐸🎺

We have a whole host of music discoveries that we're excited to share with you over the coming months as part of our #MirloMondays tag, but we don't believe in gatekeeping or only giving editorial to a select few. With that in mind, the floor is open for this week!
Post your Mirlo releases below and tell us a bit about what you make. 🎧🐦⬛

"We’re excited to announce that we’ve been working on bringing Mirlo to mobile! We know that a lot of users—especially listeners—prefer apps to discover and listen to their purchased music. If you’ve ever created, listened to, or purchased music on Mirlo and thought, “Dang, I’d love to listen to this on my phone!” this is the update for you."

It would be so cool if there was a music place that took the best bits of #Bandcamp and #Patreon and also let you set your own fees as an artist and maybe was a #coop too.
Well, it already exists. It's called #Mirlo. 🐦⬛

Are you a musician with music on Mirlo? Want to have your music included on our compilation album? Fill in this form to be considered!
What's the first piece of music you paid money for?
On Kickstarter it’s all or nothing, and we’re going to need your help getting across the finish line.
Our kickstarter campaign has also boosted the amount of people who have uploaded music to Mirlo. When we first started drafting the language for the campaign we had 160 artists with roughly 400 albums, which has grown to 260 artists with 550 albums uploaded! We’re excited that musicians are finding us and trusting us with what they’re making.
