The creosote bushes are lovely in bloom after the heavy summer rains
These are going to be bundled and sent off to new homes (so their showers will smell like our monsoons!)

Prickly pear jelly time 🌵💜
Isn’t it so satisfying to gather local fruit?
#foraging #homestead #foodstr
Monsoons blew in a couple orders for creosote which I’m fulfilling today.
Any other #desert dwellers here who will forever associate the smell of creosote bush with summer rains?
It’s an amazing first aid plant to keep on hand btw 💚
#foraging #herbs #grownostr
Prickly pear juice so vibrant the camera really can’t do it justice.
I’m gonna stock the fridge with a prickly pear + lime simple syrup for limeades to keep us going through the rest of this hot weather.
Tomorrow will be jelly experiments!

Hi nostr! I've been quiet on this page, but I'm still out foraging treasures from Southern Arizona. Check out what we have if you're interested in working with desert herbs or natural skin care 🌱🌸

Hello nostr 🤗 I've been off this account for while, popping back in to remind you that we have #desert #herbs & #botanical products in stock on #plebeianmarket and #shopstr. There is still time to order a last minute gift if you're in the US!
Since I started my #foraging journey here in the Sonoran Desert, my family and friends have loved on:
🌱 Creosote bundles, to hang in the shower and bring the scent, mood lifting & lung clearing properties of desert rain to your home
☀️ Desert Sun Face Serum & Creosote Hydrosol, for natural skin care especially to soothe acne-prone and sun-damaged skin
🌲 Juniper Hydrosol, an excellent face & linen spray to calm your mind and spiritually cleanse
I'll have more salves and other goodies stocked in the next day or two 🫶

It's been a while since I made a creosote bundle. Got an order in yesterday and checked in on a few of these beautiful plants
The creosote bushes are lush and aromatic after all the summer rain we had. Perfect for bundling.
Some customers love hanging these in the shower, so the steam will smell like desert rain 🌧️
I like to let a bundle dry and use it to smudge. Burning it also helps to repel mosquitos 🔥
Send us a message or order one on #plebeianmarket if you'd like to grab one 🫶

We've sold out of Ocotillo flowers for the season, so they'll next be available in the spring 🌸
In the meantime, we'll keep the bark stocked for those who wish to become acquainted with this unique desert plant
Ocotillo bark is best utilized in the form of a tincture or glycerite for internal use and can be added to salves for external use
🍃 reduces inflammation: soothes arthritic joints, bruising and muscle pain 🧡 creates movement in the lymphatic system, especially in the pelvis 🔥 supports the liver, stimulates bile production & improves digestion
Let us know if you want to learn more about this magical plant or try it out!

Cold mornings are reminding me that winter is coming fast in this little patch of desert. We won't see much snow, but I am still often surprised by how much the temperatures drop when the sun goes down
I love the feeling of our juniper hydrosol to cleanse my face in the morning, a plant known for it's warming and purifying qualities. The only ingredients used to make this hydrosol spray are juniper branches foraged from Southern New Mexico and distilled water
We're very close to introducing a new face oil infused with juniper berries that will support your skin through a cold, dry winter (and will pair perfectly with the juniper hydrosol). Stay tuned 🍃💕

The only products I use on my face are our hydrosols and oils 🌱
Commercial lotions and skin care products contain emulsifiers, thickeners, sunscreens and preservatives that may cause more damage than protection
Why combine hydrosols and oils, like our Creosote Hydrosol and Desert Sun Face Serum? ☀️
The hydrosol moisturizes with distilled water and the essential oils of the plant. Creosote is particularly good at killing bacteria, cleansing, and cooling our skin
Followed by a mixture of protective oils to lock in hydration, protect from the sun, and smooth wrinkles & scars
Our customers report less acne, brighter, and more moisturized skin 💫

After a long while of it sitting on my to-do list, today I added all of our products to #shopstr
And since it had been a while since our prices were updated, everything has been lowered to make sure you always get a discount compared to my sales in USD 💫
Go check out our herbs, salves, oils, and botanical mists 🍃

We've been resting a lot during a rainy weekend in the #desert
To those of you also living #offgrid and #homesteading - what are your favorite rainy day tasks?
For now, I'm just enjoying the view of the foggy mountains 🩵

Making a spray that smells like desert rain 🩵
I love the beauty of distilling fresh herbs in our copper alembic. The copper is a traditional material for making hydrosols and also improves the scent by segregating sulfate compounds
Here is creosote being prepared for the distillation process to make a face spray that is uplifting, cleansing, clears up acne, and has that lovely smell of rain in the desert
Creosote hydrosol will remain stocked in our shop on #plebeianmarket. We also have juniper and mugwort available, with more coming very soon! 🍃

Walking our #offgrid #desert property this summer has brought so many beautiful surprises and medicinal #plants. My first encounter with a native hibiscus. What a blessing 🌸

Our creosote hydrosol is made by distilling water with fresh creosote leaves - that's it. This process extracts the essential oils and other aromatic compounds into a spray you can use on your face, body, and linens.
Customers have said it makes an amazing face toner, clearing up their acne and soothing old scars.
I love the cleansing energy of creosote for washing away negativity as well. And it smells amazing, like desert rain.

Gm nostr!
Our creosote infused fave & body oil is perfect if you're looking for the healing benefits of creosote for your skin - without any extras added.
Creosote is solar infused into golden jojoba oil for one month to extract the antioxidants and antimicrobial compounds.
Use it on your face to prevent acne, reverse sun damage, and lock in moisture.
It can also be applied to get rid of rashes, support wound healing, or just as a massage oil with the lovely scent of desert rain.
These products are birthed on our 40 acres of land in Southern Arizona. We've been here just over a year and this summer was much wetter than last. Recently, the desert has bloomed with at least a dozen plants that are new for me to identify.
I am always pulled in by the nightshades, so here is a little spotlight (one of these is making it's way into a massage oil 😉)
My first time meeting a wild tomatillo!
And now a datura plant is getting ready to bloom at our doorstep 💚

Now available infused into a salve with other natural ingredients that support wound healing and deep hydration
Perfect for cuts and scrapes, scars, sunburns, eczema, and dry skin
