This one is mine.

In Argentina they don't play Mariah Carey during christmas season, (neither in Singapore, IIRC). I was oblivious to all of this until I moved to Spain.

I saw the last season of Better Call Saul, my new joke is mimicking Gus Fring's s-pan-ish ah-ck-cento

Validating nostr messages in smart contracts is unnecesarily complex. Now I wish a note could be something like an EIP712 signed structure.

Today at around 7am I woke up to a cat fight next to my night table. This is not my cat.

I needed an upper-body picture for an event flyer so I just had Dall-e draw me an upper body. Now I need to have this shirt tailored. https://void.cat/d/UyK3WVv1hU5KMpNdeVizko.webp

I literally just dozed off for an hour and btc is now 27500 wtf.

Pretends to be shocked

The best use of large language models in programming is naming stuff. I need a copilot for invalidating caches and I'm set.

I have a plan that would allow Messi to play professionally well into his 50's but it involves him self-identifying as a woman so I don't think it's going to happen.

I can't take my eyes away of LK99 news for the past 4 days. https://twitter.com/Andercot/status/1686286684424691712 This discovery can end wars, by increased abundance of everything, or by increased demand for lead :P

We have a nostr chat for Asami, we're moving all development discussions there https://www.nostrchat.io/channel/f09f3ea52a5b71b7e3dc9d981e0519a224cd9180bed2004f15d60fe2d4076fd3

My linkedin is not getting any requests from recruiters, and lots of requests from developers looking for work. Is this Bear market?

I dont know why, but some people who've clearly never used a foldable phone, love hating on them for stuff they've heard about the 2019 version, or a crease they see on the marketing material.

Here's an actual review on the state of the art on foldables.

We changed the Asami protocol to be optimistic, only disputes will cost money.

Just replicate the damn LK-99 superconductor!

España es un país bastante "a-politico" comparado con Argentina, sin embargo tiene unas elecciones que son mucho más entretenidas.

In the new Mission Impossible, the elites travel in a coal powered train with fine dining carts. It's strangely on point: A large carbon footprint is a sign of status.

Writing a smart contract in solidity that works with real money I get the eerie feeling like I'm buying a car from Matilda's dad. https://s.hdnux.com/photos/01/22/42/26/21636530/4/1800x0.jpg

Trying to help creators monetize using on-topic sponsored content, chosen by them, with payments in DoC (dollar on chain) using RSK as an criptographically safe escrow. It amazes me how in 2023 developers would think "proton" is a good name for a piece of software. Nor only it's been used everywhere, the software rarely deals with anything related to protons.

You could have a nostr client double as a verifiable credential wallet, and present / receive credentials on it.

When the economy is declining, people who were poor already, and those who made it out of being poor, are ahead of the curve and get to set the culture until good times make a new batch of kids that don't know poverty.

For a few years now, my go-to deployment option is not puppet, kubernetes, docker, capistrano, etc. I just make a tiny shell script. It compiles a large-ish binary, which embeds all assets and may be statically linked too. Then it rsyncs the binary to the server and reloads whatever's needed (nginx, systemd unit, etc)

Toxic maximalism is generally a good way to avoid scams. But I think it's hipocritical for them to say that compromises that favor adoption are inherently scammy (such as custodial exchanges), when we all know most toxic maxis have sold BTC at a huge profit thanks to the adoption those compromises brought on.

Just got a civil alert from Catalonian government ringing loudly on all my devices (It was a test) but they essentially expect to have people follow instructions without questioning and in a hurry. They should have handled COVID better. I'll take my chances dodging russian bombs by foot before I listen to anything this clowns have to say ever again.

stop trying to put critical apps on a raspberry pi. you are paying for flexibility but you don't use it, and don't need it either. get a nuc, an old laptop, anything with reasonable specs.

hola

!!

As much as I agree with Jordan Peterson's approach to social critique (common sense), that "what is a woman? - Marry one and find out" quote is cringey AF.

I'm going to jail for running an unregistered nostr relay in the EU, please zap bail money 😭

I'm building a really aggresive NOSTR indexer with rust, tokio and postgres. Let me know if you want the data. Or if you want to ban me.

Who regulates the regulators? https://www.cooperkirk.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Operation-Choke-Point-2.0.pdf

We're on

The RSK hackaton workshop starts in 100 minutes:

Look

seems someone already took advantage of the fact nostr uses schnorr to make multisig publishing. I haven't used it yet to know the shortcommings, but seems to be the right approach for community owned nostr accounts https://github.com/nickfarrow/frostr . We only need to make better management tools and probably integrate it to some clients, but if it all works as I think it will, no new NIP's are required.

Que suerte tengo de que la vida de los otros no sea una de mis preocupaciones, y además está bien visto no juzgarles las decisiones.

Remember: If anyone cancels any plan on you this weekend, they're playing the new zelda.

Unpopular opinion: The subset of HTML supported by Markdown can be written in plain HTML, remain just as readable by humans, but is way more compatible with everything else. Most uses of markdown are for enforcing a subset of HTML as input, which could be trivially achieved with an XML schema.

Building a static website from scratch b/c all CSS frameworks are bloatware on top of native display: flex support, and static website generators can be replaced by 40 lines of rust code if you already have a webserver and templating engine as dependencies.

No docs is better than old docs.

+115, -5744 . Cleaning up as part of the open sourcing effort. All code written by humans for this project, no scaffolding, GPT or vendored files. https://github.com/constata-eu/constata/pull/21/files

This weekend at El Salvador, 13 year old school kids are having one of many instances in a debate tournament where all topics are about crypto regulation, whether the state should regulate a number of aspects or not, like NFT ownership. What are kids in your country debating?

Say no to AliExpress stores in Spain. Don't buy crappy imported bazaar items from a chinese mega corporation, instead buy all your imported crappy utensils at the traditional chinese corner store.

To all who did not ask: Fortunately I didn't get caught in the current SVB run, because FDIC ensures deposits up to 250K, which is greater than my balance of 0 dollars.

Lindo dia para ser prepper.

I'm either going to bed or waking up at 5AM too often. Hopefully what I'm doing ends up being good.

So, I'm about to spend 10 hours debugging a crypto library that I know has no bugs, but it's the only way to learn how to use it properly because interoperability in the crypto world is an afterthought so nothing is documented. When I'm done I'll try to add compatibility notes or at least an easily indexable GitHub issue for the next schmuck that comes across this.
