Nature's candy 😍

GM Nostr

Primal hardly works on desktop for me it's terrible and so annoying.

Chances are I'm doing something wrong but geez . It's barely usable

The Alby extension is giving me trouble... it used to work but its been a while and seems i need to update some things

I have to link a new wallet with NWC. I tried setting up Zeus but it doesn't work. Any other wallets I should use?

I don't know how to generate a new NWC connection secret in anything but Zeus but I can't add any sats to Zeus because it is unable to find a route for payment

For the past couple of months I've been casually researching the history of #Feminism through the lens of Fiat money.

I think that feminism, as we know it today, has been largely shaped by fiat money and the distorted incentives it creates.

I know the word "feminism" is radioactive haha. Understandably so. It's insanely divisive and adversarial, and often disconnected from biological reality.

One interesting thread that I can't ignore: the second wave of feminism closely coincides with the end of the gold standard.

It's not as simple as “fiat ruined feminism.” Obviously it's more complex than that... but social movements evolve within the systems they exist in!

And in a fiat system that requires two incomes to survive, feminists defined “liberation” as participation in the labour market.

That’s not the same as women’s flourishing!

Any thoughts?

I was originally going to write a few articles about this just for fun… but I discovered a rabbithole, so I think I might turn this into a whole book! #FiatFeminism

Getting back to it :')

Holding

in my hands 🤩

We rewrote the definition of women's liberation and women's flourishing as women's participation in the labour market...

Who benefits from that definition ?! 🤔

#fiatFeminism

Anyone here going to Beyond Bitcoin (psychedelic retreat) this summer?

I saw a cool cloud

I'M BACK (this is my public commitment to using nostr more often again and also being generally online more)

what have I missed haha

Stoked to be listening to

at #ABCPT26 right now 💜🧡

Learning lots!!!

And I'm so excited to be a part of it!!! 🤗

Woke up at midnight in Kandy, drove 3 hours to climb 5500 stairs so I could watch the sunrise on the top of Adam's Peak... descended and drove 5 more hours to watch the sun set at the top of Lion Rock in Sigiriya

Both were cloudy so I technically never saw the sun rise OR set hahaha

But I love this kind of type 2 fun, would do it again 🥰

#SriLanka #travel #hike

In case you're in the mood to pay it forward - I visited Nomishka in my travels to Sri Lanka last week and can confirm he is a genuine great person from a wonderful family, they showed me such hospitality and need some help with rebuilding their home 🧡🧡🧡

Spent the day singing, dancing, and playing games with

and his beautiful family. And they fed me home cooked Sri Lankan food until my stomach was as full as my heart!

The #Bitcoin and Nostr #community is so special 🧡💜

I get so re-energized every time I spend an extended amount of time around bitcoiners in real life. You come across the widest array of curious souls all interested in #bitcoin through a totally different lens, yet all with largely overlapping underlying values.

Picking lilacs to make a simple syrup 🙂🪻 Perhaps a sparkling lilac lemonade can fix a broken heart and existential dread spiral

Wow. So cool. Homeschooling is the dream

When I was little I used to fantasize about being able to send someone images and thoughts from your brain directly to theirs without the filter of language (or art). I still wish I could get someone to understand me completely without having to explain anything. Airdrop a thought before I've bothered to encode it with words for the purpose of transmission 🥲 Communication can be so tiring sometimes

Even with perfect communication you can't be sure you've truly been understood because of the fact that everyone has their own system of perception with a different frames of reference and internal dictionaries all formed by subjective experiences. Literally everyone is running custom internal software assigning meanings to your words and getting to understanding that is "close enough" but that is never truly verifiable. I think people study this ( #semiotics ) and the consensus is that true perfect understanding can never exist

It's nice that understand eachother well enough to build amazing technologies and meaningful relationships and function very well. But the fact that we can never be sure someone is interpreting us at the deepest level in the way that we intend, is quite a lonely thought

What's the cutest way to gift my sister and future BOL Bitcoin for their wedding?! #asknostr

This is a shamefully last minute wedding gift haha

I'm not buying them a hardware wallet

I don't have enough time to get her a sats card. I almost did anyway cause it's so easy, but the coin kite website seems to not accept lightning (???) so the fee to pay on chain is more than the card itself 😂

River seems to be only for US residents and they want my SIN

Open dime seems too techy, honestly even for me and they're ultra-normies . Also expensive and only in 3packs so that's out

I could make a hot wallet and make two backups of the seed, and they can take it out whenever they're ready to self custody. Or I can just destroy my copy when they have it. A bit annoying but maybe fine. I'm 99% sure this is what I'll end up doing

Unless are there any options I'm unaware of and missing?

😁 how do you all gift Bitcoin?

😂

I guess I might die on this hill #bitcoin

I can’t stop thinking about the energy in Rio de Janeiro.

The best thing I can compare it to is Toronto the night the Raptors won the playoffs (my only frame of reference because I was there, lol).

There was a buzzing energy you could physically feel everywhere. I stepped out on to my balcony and the air was literally like electric, from the energy of people celebrating in the streets. But the difference is that in Toronto it was a special occasion youd feel maybe once or twice in a lifetime - it was literally historic. In Rio, it was just a regular Monday ✨

It has consciously occurred to me for the first time that some places just exist at a higher frequency. Absolutely wild!! I’m not likely to move to Rio, but this realization will definitely help inform where I eventually choose to settle

#energy #brazil #toronto #rio #reflections

I’m doing some research for a little article I’m writing ... #fiat feminism ... about how our broken monetary system has (mis)shaped the direction of modern-day #feminism

The idea is that the “progress” we see today isn’t the result of moral or social evolution, but of economic pressures, and that today’s mainstream feminist ideas largely benefits a small class of professional, successful women

It also downplays the natural, healthy differences between men and women, pushing women to adopt more masculine modes of being (constant working, striving, doing - "girlboss-ing") rather than honoring and leaning into our feminine strengths

I want to trace this back to the monetary system: how has an inflationary currency and the need to work harder and harder for less and less distorted the meaning of female empowerment? What would an organic, healthy form of progress look like, free from these pressures??

If you know any resources (books, essays, articles, podcasts) that touch on this, I’d love your recommendations!!!
