Here's Rucknium's latest article about the infamous #monero 18-block reorg: What happened, why it matters, and what it has to do with the annoying 10 block lock.

If I could understand the whole thing enough to be able to do the diagrams, you can do it as well!

But seriously, give it a read. It's important if you care about (and want to understand) Monero's inner workings and quirks better:

I've been using gupax.io for a week now, it really is easy and every hash makes #monero a tiny bit harder to mess with.

Coolest visualization website I've seen this week:

If you haven't already, pirate the shit out of your favorite films and music. There's a chance you might not be able to access it in the future.

My favorite place to search for services that does NOT require your identity just got a massively useful and good looking update: http://kycnot.me It needs more community comments to make the best rise and help others not to fall for scams. We can do it!

I'm officially old now, I think the past was better.

Holy shit using #deepseek with the DeepThink on is mesmerizing. 😶

That's a great game on the Epic store that you can claim for free just for today: https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/hell-let-loose-03f036 It's a "realistic" WW2 shooter, which teaches you how likely was that you'd died very fast on a real war.

Watched "Here" by #bobzemeckis last night and with that fixed camera camera and the characters fading in and out brought back memories of The 7th Guest.

For women to enjoy sex they need to feel it was their idea. For men to enjoy helping out or solving a problem we need to feel it was our idea.

Of course I sold XMR two days ago to pay my credit card. You're welcome. 😅

That's like saying you don't need a screwdriver. Yeah, that's a slight chance you might get the work done with something else, but you'll more than likely screw up, break something and sweat a lot in the process.

Pretty nice debrief of the recent

What's this gorgeous display of Uruguayan soft power doing in my argentinean supermarket

If in doubt, eat the piece of parmesan. Always. There's no good reason not to eat parmesan.

Friendly reminder that there's an open bounty so that #garnet can be installed as a separate app from #amethyst, which would be super useful: https://bounties.monero.social/posts/147/2-004m-garnet-maintenance-sync-upstream-new-icons-resolve-amethyst-dual-install-conflict-etc

If they move it from cows to humans, that would really make a dent in the family budget.

Argentineans always line up for flights as if the seats weren't numbered. 🤦‍♂️

Maybe it's just me having a thing for public transportation, but $1 to take an air conditioned bus with better seats than the plane straight to downtown Houston is nothing short of great.

Taking part in fun things is not something you should take for granted. Embrace and enjoy.

We need to get the digilol.net people on #nostr #monerotopia

Start puttting some Euros aside frens because we have official dates for #MoneroKon 2025 and it's at the same venue in Prague again: 20-22 June!

gm, cool:

Spielberg's camera feels like the consciousness of the spectator.

Zemeckis' camera feels like the consciousness of the director.

My random cinema two cents of the day.

Lately I've been using LocalSend to send files or text between desktop and mobile. It's great: clean UX, works without tinkering, free, open source:

I've made the jump from Firefox to Brave with sadness like 2 or 3 years ago. I don't like to help the Chromium dominance, I don't like the BAT token, nor the GUI, I don't even like the lion logo, but if I try to be objective, Brave provides the best browsing experience for almost any user. It blocks enough stuff by default while working without issues with most of the websites.

Testing ProCCD on #android. Nice image customization on the free tier if you're looking for some warmer analog-like look.

If you've been given permission it's not disruptive.

Friendly reminder not to engage with bait. Not even to mock it. Indifference is our only weapon here.

Estoy buscando a alguien en CDMX para dar una charla introductoria en español a #nostr en Monerotopia el mes que viene. Sugerencias? Voluntarios? #hispano #mexico

I'm doing an Alien franchise watch, I only vaguely remembered watching the 4th one when I was a kid. So far I've crossed out the first three. Very interesting to see all different directors' take on the same theme, kinda like the first 4 Mission Impossible movies.

Listening to this on an old Sony boombox that I modded with a cheap Bluetooth receiver, for maximum irony.

I think it's more like Argentina. They have a very strong precedent (even if ages ago) of hyperinflation. But I think it's reinforced by their love of cash, and giving the government as little information profiling as possible. They've learned their lesson. I'm sure that's why there are so many #monero users AND nodes as well. Plus they have a very strong hacking community.

Short. Useful. It really works. Start with at least one of those today. Add another next week. Stick to it until becomes second nature. ✊
