Back at school. Eight long weeks lie ahead of us. This is the most intense period of the school year, with lots of tests to write, parent-teacher meetings and conferences to attend, and extra events to organize. Add the dark, wet weather to the mix. Family life is also always particularly eventful during this time, with lots of extra things to think about and plan for. Every year, I have to brace myself a little for what lies ahead 🤍

I really like those super-light slip leads that you simply put over the dog’s head. The dog walks right by your side as if there were no leash at all. I hold it loosely in my hand, and there’s no tension on it. That’s what true loose-leash walking looks like to me: the dog stays attentive to me without becoming so accustomed to the leash that it stops paying attention 🤍

I feel deeply connected to my femininity and love living in harmony with my cycle. I thrive on the energy and creativity of the first half. The second half took me longer to embrace, but I’ve learned that I can feel just as content and balanced when I slow down and expect less of myself. And then there are days when I simply want to be, to do nothing and be alone. As a mother, that’s never entirely possible, but I acknowledge that need and slow down whenever I can. That’s when I find inner peace, too 🤍

It’s been raining nonstop. And across the lake, you can hear the banging as the farmers unload the sugar beets 🤍

School holidays mean lots of time with the kids. That’s lovely. But they also mean an endless cycle of preparing meals, loading and unloading the dishwasher, mess all over the house, sibling squabbles, and so on. I’ve had enough for today 🤍
