Calendar Update 2.2.0

We recently did a huge rewrite of Calendar. Some bugs had creeped in and the UI did not scale well with the features we had in mind. We also updated a few things in the protocol layer which we think will help us scale the app better. Here are the highlights

• UI uplift: We did a major uplift of the UI. Now the UI has dark mode, better month view and is in general better structured. We took the philosophy that an app should scale down as well as be completely customizable features for power users. Keeping this in mind, now the calendar brings up quick details up front, while still being customizable.
• Device calendars: Calendar now supports device calendars as well. With calendar now, you can view Nostr calendars and your Device calendars at the same place. We will be adding more device calendars functionality in the future
• Widget Improvement: The widget now also supports dark mode and shows the device calendars as well.
• Settings: Calendar is now much more customisable with multiple user settings which are save to Nostr relays privately(encrypted) using the App Data Spec
• Meeting Update Notifications: This had become one of the most requested features. Now if you are a part of a meeting and the meeting gets updated, you will receive a notification alongwith some details of the update.
• Participant Search: Now when adding participants to your meeting, you can search them over Nostr(Nip-50). Your contact list and people you previously interacted with are also shown
• Invitation Improvements: We switched the invitations from a custom kind to regular NIP-17 Direct Messages. Now when you invite others, they receive a regular message with the link to the event. So even if someone doesn't have the calendar app, or doesn't use it, they will still receive the event details(over any other app which supports NIP 17 DMs!).

At all times, your personal data doesn't leave your device in an unencrypted form and all notifications/processing happens locally. Please note that notifications are available only on the android app

We have also started to get the app ready for iOS and will be applying soon to publish our app on the App Store
