⚡ npub.cash PSA: Migration Complete
Good morning, everyone! Today, I’m happy to announce that the npub.cash reconciliation and migration are finally complete. We have successfully migrated all usernames and funds to the new stack, and all v1 services have now been retired.
If you’ve been using npubx.cash over the past few months, you shouldn’t notice any major changes. For users of the deprecated v1 stack, however, things will work a little differently.
The new architecture no longer mints ecash on your behalf. Instead, it holds the mint quote so your wallet can mint the ecash directly. This approach is safer, improves privacy, and gives you greater control over your funds.
This also means that npub.cash can now integrate only with full Cashu wallets, so the old claim interface is gone. The best way to use npub.cash is through a supported wallet, such as Sovran on iOS and Android or cashu.me on desktop and the web.
For anyone who doesn’t want to use one of these wallets, or who needs NIP-46 support, I’m working on a web-based npub.cash wallet. It will let you claim and spend your sats over Lightning. That’s next week’s project!
I’m incredibly grateful for the support and patience the npub.cash community has shown throughout this migration. With the old stack retired and the new architecture providing a much stronger foundation, I’m committed to improving npub.cash regularly and making the service better for everyone.
Thank you! ⚡🧡

It has been years but you can finally pay npub.cash Zaps from
. 🧡
The reason this wasnt working is because Primal seems to encode Zap Requests twice, breaking decoding on the server side. I added some compatibility code to npubcash-server to make it work until the upstream is fixed.

Another npub.cash PSA 📢
If you were using npubx.cash or npub.cash with a custom mint, please ensure that this mint is still running and reachable.
I already had several migration payments fail, because users configured custom mints that are not reachable. I will of course keep re-attempting those payments.
Log into cashu.me, and check that the right mint is configured there.

PSA: Npub.cash v1 defaulted to Minibits, therefore npub.cash fund migration needs to be halted until Minibits has concluded it's own maintenance. User can expect funds to appear in v2 supporting wallets starting Wednesday.
I am really sorry for the inconvenience 🫂

GM, everyone! As announced, the npub.cash migration is underway and proceeding as planned.
All new payments are now generated on the new architecture and can be claimed using a supported wallet. You can find a list of compatible wallets here: https://npubx.cash/#wallets
Funds held by the legacy npub.cash service will be migrated gradually and automatically after the cutoff. No action is required from users, but the process will take some time to complete. Funds are safe, I promise.
Because npub.cash predates v1 and has evolved significantly since its initial release, we will carefully scan the legacy database and verify the status of every proof. This includes searching for recoverable sats that may previously have been considered lost, for example, when a user initiated a withdrawal but never claimed the associated proofs.
The dataset is large, VERY large, and verifying proof states requires throttled communication with the mint. We will therefore proceed deliberately to ensure the migration is thorough while preserving users’ privacy with respect to the mint.
This is not the migration process I originally envisioned. We had to accelerate our plans after Blink discontinued API access for users in certain regions. Thank you for your patience and all the support.

Yesterday we have uncovered an incompatibility between http://npub.cash and mint software, causing signature verification failures.
Until this is resolved http://npub.cash is offline for maintenance. Use http://npubx.cash in the meantime. Funds are safe

The time has come, npubx.cash and npub.cash are finally being reconciled mid August.
If you are using npub.cash in your project please take a look at https://docs.npub.cash/docs/migration.html
Balances will be migrated automatically.

Next week I am finally upgrading https://npub.cash to the latest major of npubcash-server and will be reconciling npubx.cash accounts in the process. Old v1 accounts will be migrated. Funds are safu (although npub.cash is not the place to keep your sats!)
I’ll keep you updated.

How do people actually hit any limits on the max-tier AI plans?
I run a codex remote server that is running 24/7. Vibing a project from my phone, issue triage, grilling and PRD creation for coco. Orchestration of sub-agents for slice implementation. Multiple hermes / openclaw agents for me and family with plenty of cron jobs and hooks. Code review on all my PRs.
All on 5.5 xhigh or high in fast mode.
I have never dropped below 40% of my weekly limit.

Yesterday I challenged Codex (5.5 xhigh) to build a Cashu wallet using electrobun and coco v2. I had high expectations, but the results of a single four line prompt is really quite impressive...
Obviously my focus with Coco always has been making it as easy as possible to build Cashu wallet apps, but making it AI-friendly as an enabler is just as important...

I have asked about rucking a couple days ago, started immediately and so far it feels absolutely amazing. I found three old cast iron grill grids in the garage and wrapped them so my bag stays clean. Adding those 20 pounds to my daily dog walks raises HR just enough to make it an easy zone 2 workout.
Zero costs, almost no added strain or fatigue, but 10-15k additional steps ins beautiful weather and nature ☀️

I’m trying to structure my time a bit better, so I’ve decided to dedicate Thursdays to MVPs, greenfield ideas, and exploration projects.
Today’s project: electrs-duress.
It’s a tiny Bun proxy that sits between your wallet and its Electrum server. The proxy listens for scripthash requests and can send an alert via Telegram or webhook when a specific wallet balance is being checked.
The idea is simple: configure the proxy with the xpub of your decoy wallet. If you ever find yourself in a $5 wrench attack situation, you unlock the decoy wallet. Your wallet software will naturally ask the connected Electrum server for balances, which triggers a silent alarm in electrs-duress and sends the notification of your choice.

37 weeks ago, I started working on Coco: a TypeScript framework and developer kit for building Cashu wallets and applications.
The goal was simple: make Cashu app development in TypeScript as easy, modular, and reliable as possible. Coco provides a storage-agnostic core for wallet logic, proof management, mint sync, quote handling, subscriptions, operation recovery, and typed events, plus maintained adapters for Node, Bun, IndexedDB, and Expo/React Native. It also includes React hooks for building wallet UIs on top of the same core primitives.
Today, after roughly 120,000 lines of code written in over 600 commits, and 55 alpha releases, I am very proud to announce that Coco v1 is now stable and available on npm under the @cashu scope.
This release marks the first stable foundation for developers who want to build Cashu apps in TypeScript without rebuilding the same wallet infrastructure from scratch.
But the work has just begun! Coco already takes care of the typical Cashu operations, but v2 is already being laid out. Custom units, more methods and other amazing improvements are going to land very soon (tm).

Developers that don’t get up-to-speed on AI and automation quickly are going to have a bad time very soon.
I dear friend of mine has an ancient typo3 website (~2,500 pages) that was in desperate need to a migration. He asked me for help
I spawned a new OpenClaw on a VPS with my default config, told it to create a local Strapi CMS, crawl the url of the old site and scrape all the content into the new strapi system. Once that is done, it should create a modern NextJs project in the look and feel of the old website and wire everything up.
It took TWO hours. The new site is live, faster, and most importantly no longer threatened by an ancient MySQL and php version.
