The Time Traveler's Dollar: What Would a 1920 Dollar Really Be Worth Today?

I got my numbers from in2013dollars.com - I may be off a bit, but it’s just an experiment.

Anyway….

Imagine taking a crisp $1 bill from 1920 and fast-forwarding it to 2025. Most people know that due to inflation, that dollar would be worth about $15.78 today. But what if we hadn't printed all that extra money? What if we'd kept the money supply frozen at 1920 levels?

Over the past century, the dollar has lost 94% of its purchasing power, but thats not the whole story. If the US had maintained the 1920 money supply levels, that same dollar would theoretically be worth approximately $361.09 today. This difference comes from several key factors:

105 years of economic growth at 3.1% annually.

Population adjustments (accounting for 0.9% annual population growth)

Substantial productivity improvements (15x multiplier)

Technological advancement bonus (2.5x multiplier)

I assemble seedsigners for fun and backup. They cost me about $50-60 US dollars to make. I have a growing pile of them and realized I just may be overdoing it for no obvious reason (OCD?). Is there a market here to sell them for zaps? I would only be interested in covering my cost and shipping, zero profit for me because my motivation for doing this is to introduce others to bitcoin and the joy and ease of offline signers, but the growing pile of signers on my workbench exposes the fact that I don’t know a single bitcoiner irl. I’ve always done social media from behind the cloak, but the vibe here inspires hardcore #authenticity which I think can only be fully realized by introducing one’s real self, and interacting with others as such. The pull is strong. I have made contributions to the cryptography community in my published writings (straight cryptography, no blockchain), but I’m still fearful of exposing myself as a toxic bitcoiner to the world (judgement, employment issues, home invasions, ransom problems with family members,etc) lol. Which client is good at sorting by way of how much in zaps a note got, how many total zaps it got, how many reactions it got, how new it is, etc like Reddit? I’m in Damus and I’m frustrated because without this type of sorting things are just in a big heap of hashtags with no granular breakdown.
