Now in the Reader: Bluesky, Mastodon, and the Fediverse https://wordpress.com/blog/2026/05/28/reader-social-bluesky-mastodon-fediverse/ #Bluesky, #Fediverse, #Mastodon, #Reader, #Social

I am in a small hackathon project with

to bring the open social web to the WordPress.com reader (or the other way around)!

Stay tuned for more updates and have a nice weekend :)

I sat down with @snarfed.org to talk about his work around the #fediverse, the #indieweb and the #atmosphere including (fed.)brid.gy and

👋

I am not sure why this escalated so quickly and we are now at a point where blocking long-form content is on the table!?

I simply wanted to start a discussion about it 😞

can someone share a speakers picture of the #FOSDEM #socialweb dev room?

#followerpower #fediverse

I see some direct messages in element (matrix client) and when I try to read them I get an error... for all of them...

what am I doing wrong? 🤔

about two-thirds of YouTube ads are just AI slop or AI impersonation fakes!

does anyone know a calkey/firefish dev/hoster that can help me debug a problem!?

#followerpower #fediverse

I chatted with

about the good old days of the #fediverse ☺️

Thanks especially to

...and to

for pitching and leading the project!

#ActivityPub #Fediverse

the team came up with the puppies without any knowledge of your newsletter, so this must be really a thing!

we just released version 5.5.0 of the #WordPress #ActivityPub plugin https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-activitypub/releases/tag/5.5.0

hast du lust auf nen podcast mit mir? bisschen über deine arbeit mit ActivityPub, WordPress und den Events erzählen?

https://dothewoo.io/podcasts/open-web-conversations/

I am reading through the context fep and I am wondering if nodeBB only supports the context to be a collection or could it also be a post that starts a conversation?

this was such an awesome event!!! it was such a pleasure to meet you all!!!

(way too much people to @-reply everyone, but I hope you all feel addressed)

This may be the reference implementation of #podcasts in #WordPress blogs and i hope that more podcasts will follow this example.

It was fun working with you on that ❤️

And kudos to the

team, the audio player is pretty neat!!!

#automattic #wordpressdotcom

you are asking what features the new ActivityPub plugin version has?

thanks for asking! ☺️

• Support for post visibility - you can choose between "public", "only followers" and "no federation".
• Attribution-Domains - that should fix the fediverse:creator issues, if you had issues
• Improved compatibility with caching plugins

the more I try to build something that federates with bluesky, the more I agree with dave!

nostr:npub1xsvg2xkadm588z2khnywdfqsmv73rskhy96svdcr3d6zx8yl39xsq7q6he long time no chat :)

I've seen that #WordPress has no logo on #fedidb. Is it possible to add one?

Is an ID change also a Move but under the same domain? Can #Mastodon, #Pixelfed and others handle that, even if the URL stays the same?

#ActivityPub #fediverse

@distributed it seems that the links to your posts are broken in your RSS-Feed.

Here an example: https://distributed.press2024/03/18/distributed-press-is-at-fediforum-this-week/

(there is a missing / after the domain)

really nice service by

I tweaked the #ActivityPub inbox endpoints of my #WordPress site a bit and was able to follow my blog on #Flipboard ❤️

guess what's coming soon to a #WordPress blog near you?
