I discovered this game Neptunes Pride last week. Very much enjoying its slow paced strategy gameplay. It's a free to play, HTML 5 game so it works on any device. You capture stars, develop your economy and technology, and send fleets across space in real time. Diplomacy, alliances and betrayal matter just as much as military strength.

If it sounds like your type of thing, give it a shot.

Thanks to the Brisbane Bitcoin meetup for inviting me to speak at their monthly meetup.

Had a great time spreading the word about the UK Bitcoin community and our merchant onboarding strategies. 🇬🇧🇦🇺

Home made pizza night starts early in Oz.

Sitting in my car listening to the pod when I suddenly hear a shoutout from Battersea Bitcoiners!

Great show, guys. This is the signal. 💪🏼

What’s the best method for embedding Nostr posts on a website? Any services/methods that make it easy?

What a great conversation. Enjoyed listening to every minute. Thanks for the shoutout too

I had a strange ‘hang on a minute he’s talking about me’ moment! We’re kindred spirits sir.

Nice to see that

has a handy new way to switch between accounts in the app.

It’s easy to run different wallets for different projects you have now and keep the sats separated.

Just went to see the new Avatar movie.

It’s basically the 2nd movie but with a bit less water stuff and not much fire or ash, but still quite a lot of water. Ooh and a witchy lady that has red on her face.

So other than the lady with red on her face, basically it’s the same as the 2nd movie.

We got gifted a plate of seafood today for booking over 30 days in our airbnb.

Shrimps, Squid and Scallops.

The shrimps were still alive and were trying to jump off the plate!

We had to google fast before cooking them.

Great pod guys.

Find out what’s happening for UK Bitcoin meetups this coming week.

In my early days with Bitcoin, I was caught up in the excitement of simply owning a little. Buying a small amount made me feel like I was “in the club.” I could read about it, listen to podcasts, and feel part of the revolution.

It took me a long time to realise that it’s not a one time ticket to a club. The real approach is this: if I have £80 spare this month, I should put it into Bitcoin. Next month, if I have £150 spare, the same, put it into Bitcoin.

It’s not about chasing more pounds. It’s about putting your capital in the best place possible. With fiat, your purchasing power falls; with Bitcoin, it rises.

Once you understand that, it feels like a no-brainer. But reaching that mindset takes a real shift, and for many, it takes time.

But for fucks sake, accumulate as much as you can, as quickly as you can.

Give this #vlog thing a crack. Since this we’ve managed to navigate around Paris in one piece. 🫣

One of the best and worst things about leaving the country, is all the things you leave behind.

This part has been very therapeutic.

Almost exactly 33 years ago today, I started an engineering apprenticeship.

It was never what I truly wanted to do with my life, but the money was ok, and the fiat trap is real. There were bills to pay and mouths to feed, so I kept plugging away. Once qualified, work was always easy to find, and it even gave me the chance to live in Australia for 10 years and Ireland for two. But the truth is, I rarely enjoyed it.

Some mornings it was hard just to get out of bed for another shift I didn't care for, but I carried on. Convinced I'd be doing this till I was 70.

At some point, I stumbled across something called #Bitcoin and as time passed, I started taking it more seriously.

In 2022, two old workmates, still good friends, started an engineering company and asked if I'd like to come onboard. I'd be the first person contracting with them. They couldn't guarantee full-time work, but they promised it would be fun, that we'd earn some money, and that we'd have a laugh along the way.

Bitcoin gave me the confidence to take that chance. It gave me a safety buffer that removed the risk of jumping in with a couple of 30-year-old lads chasing an idea.

That was three years ago. Today they've grown into a team of nine, all of whom I consider great mates. It's been the most enjoyable three years of my working life.

And now, with mixed feelings, today I've worked my last fiat shift.

From here on, I can focus my time on my family, myself, and Bitcoin.

I'll have more time for

and

Thanks to my Bitcoin family for helping me get here, and thanks to my wife, (who, as an added bonus, has become one of the most hardcore bitcoiners I know) for putting up with the lack of holidays and shopping sprees while we stacked like our lives depended on it.

Because it turns out, they did.

You can follow our travels and what we learn along the way at https://www.theexitnode.com and

Such an amazing guest! Kevin is an absolute mine of information that I hope will unlock many new rabbit holes for bitcoiners.

At some point the price catching up with the block time is going to be a thing.

A moth just rode the lift with me from the 9th floor down to the 1st. He must now be quite confused.

The coolest accent in #Bitcoin for sure!

🥳

My first

node. Ready to go.

Who’s out there? 🔊📡

I missed the

So I started doing a bit of research myself and… here we go again, another massive rabbit hole!

Just ordered two nodes to start my journey. 🕳️

Agree 100%

My family and I used to go geocaching all the time. It was a fun and cheap way to entertain the kids.

The ‘official’ geocaching app started locking content behind paywalls and we drifted away from it.

For me, geocaching should always be an open network so it’s a perfect fit with Nostr.

A legendary night.

Personal possessions disposed of: █████░░░░░░ 50%

Progress to personal freedom + full-time Bitcoiner: ████░░░░░░ 40%

Sold 8 chairs this week. Got a few more to go. By the end of the week I should be a proper Bitcoiner: chairless.

Currently transitioning from suburban fiat miner to digital nomad. It’s been a long time in the making, yet somehow it feels like we’re making it up as we go. We’re walking an untrodden path. I straddle a line between excitement and absolute fear.

I hate Facebook with all my heart, yet I’ve been glued to it for a week straight. Take a photo of a table, a chair, a bookcase… a random person arrives at the door to take it away. One by one, the things that tethered us are leaving… with every knock on the door.

Just over a week to go, and the cleansing will be complete.

Thanks to all the Bitcoiners who helped us get here.

Was lucky to have spent the day at

today.

An amazing event in such an inspiring space.

In the same way El Salvador felt way ahead of its time–a nation state adopting bitcoin as legal tender. This feels like it's a cycle early too. Surely we shouldn't have something this good till the 6th epoch.

The UK is lucky to have it, and great work by everyone involved.

If you haven't been yet, you really should.

Time to onboard some more businesses.

Hello Balham market.

One of my favourite bands is Midlake. The original singer Tim Smith released his own album late last year.

I love this track ‘Daughters Of Albion’

Great lyrics - “I do not understand this dark and empty age”
