As you evaluate bitcoin security solutions, be wary of MPC custodians selling their solution as equivalent to multisig. MPC is not native to bitcoin, and is often implemented at an operational abstraction on top of a single signature. IE: funds are secured by a single private key, but that private key is essentially sharded in a way that requires multiple people/signatures to create the bitcoin private key signature to move funds. It SOUNDS like multisig but it’s not. If there were an entropy mistake like Coldcard’s in how that single seed was created, MPC is not helping.

There are perfectly reasonable ways a custodian would use MPC with multisig, but it is not a replacement. The goal is to eliminate single points of failure.

If you’re still in single sig world, Cold Card or otherwise, please consider the upgrade to multisig. I worked on and recommend Unchained. Bitkey and Casa are also great options. Multisig with multiple hardware vendors is phenomenal security and easy to set up. These companies will hold your hand to make it easy for you.

If you don’t want a corporate coordinator, BTC sessions has done excellent guides on Multisig setups with sparrow. Go to his YouTube channel.

If you need time to consider all this and are on an affected cold card device, consider River and Stike as temporary custodial options.

You’re not stupid for using single sig. You’d be shocked by the number OG’s affected by this. Every few years we get a reminder to harden our security posture. So take a deep breath and do the work!

These guys are nuts.

Bitcoin is the great definacialization. Good time to re-read! https://www.unchained.com/blog/bitcoin-is-the-great-definancialization

But it’s so hard to pay with bitcoin…

It’s hard to truly decentralize anything other than money.

Zaprite gets paid to be featured at Ferrari week at COTA in Austin.

March 13 1836 was a grim day during the Texas revolution. Sam Houston and his army learned of the fall of the Alamo and decide to retreat east. Rock bottom morale…

But in 2026 Parker Lewis, backed by the glory of of the Lone Star flag, talks about Zaprite and the P2P app we are building to facilitate payments worldwide.

Point your favorite AI model at https://api.zaprite.com/llms.txt if you're looking to integrate bitcoin payments into your app. Less searching and fiddling. Stack more sats.

March 2, 2026 - The 190th anniversary of Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico. In 1836, The Alamo is still under siege while delegates from Texas meet at Washington on the Brazos (between modern day Houston and College Station) and unanimously approve the declaration. Bad news is coming in a few days from the Alamo, but the Texians have cemented themselves as sovereigns instead of rebels. That will be an important distinction in our dealings with America and others soon.

Between those at the Alamo and Refugio on this day, and the signatories below, you have a good chunk of all the town and county names in modern day Texas.

Sitting outside on a beautiful Feb 25th day in Austin, Tx and it hit me…I remembered the Alamo.

It’s actually day two of the siege at this point. Alamo defenders haven’t yet got word out on just how bad their situation is. But Crockett, Travis, and a sick Bowie are holding down the fort.

Goliad isn’t much better. Fannin has disobeyed direct orders to retreat and regroup and dug in for defense. Urrea is leading a massive force up the coast to meet them.

It’s time to invade New Mexico and reclaim our Texian birthright of Taos and Santa Fe.

I turn my back for 6 months and Alby hub becomes unbelievably cool. The isolated app connection workflow is incredible.

Gratifying to see so many stack sats at the local bottom getting their

invoices paid at the beginning of the month, or sell tickets to their events. Congrats humble sat stackers.

Some of you thought it was OK to own chairs, and it shows.

Max pain is sub 50k

It’s been this way for a couple of months. X is completely useless. One of the best products ever built. Before it was censorship of right wing voices that threatened it. Musk really did save it. But now the censorship is way worse - anything that is not about Minneapolis is buried. The network effect has been gutted. The worst product team fuckup I’ve seen in a long time.

The storm was not fake news. None of this is snow. All ice in Texas.

2026 is going to be huge for Zaprite. Our Event and Tickets product came out of the womb with a full head of hair and teeth, but we’re adding native ticket transfers, and easier ticket issuance for event organizers. The API gets better every week, integrations with excellent Bitcoin wallets continues to expand (also fiat integrations like quickbooks just launched) and the invoicing product is being adopted by companies that don’t even prioritize bitcoin payments.

However, I’m most excited for expanding bitcoin’s peer-to-peer native abilities in 2026.

I seriously love what I get to do.

There is endless silver in Mexico.

In December of 1835, Davey Crockett having lost his congressional seat in Tennessee and saying to his supporters: “You may all go to hell, I will go to Texas”; is making his way across Arkansas. He picks up a few followers along the way, getting to Texas with 15 companions from Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas. He’s looking for Sam Houston, another Jacksonian he’s previously met, and orders…

My niece Stella makes her TFTC debut giving a GenZ perspective of AI optimism, bitcoin as savings, and education at Alpha school in Austin. She rules.

In December of 1835, Texans actually take control of Texas. Skirmishes from October and November turn into wins with full blow sieges like the one in San Antonio that breaks December 6th. But the Texans are beating frontier troops while Santa Anna raises an obscenely large army in Mexico City to deal with the rebellion.

GM Claude Code, we’ve got some important work to do…

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends. You’re all survivors of risky inside 2020 gatherings of over 2 hours.

Bitdevs at Bitcoin Park Austin is shaping up to be a banger tonight. Come early for a few drinks before we dive into v30 and much more. https://www.meetup.com/austin-bitcoin-developers/

The bear market can’t catch you if you have a freezer full of of steaks. This is financial advice.

I miss Mutiny wallet.

Scott Ballew just released Paradiso, his fourth self written/self produced album. The most Texas Texan in Texas and one of my best friends. Check it out!

It is a sweet mercy for your favorite college football team to be eliminated from contention early in the season.

While we’ve had the integration for a while, fun to see Coinkite showing off earning bitcoin directly to cold storage. http://blog.coinkite.com/zaprite-and-coldcard/

Charging/paying for events, meetups etc… with bitcoin is pretty bad. So we took our Zaprite checkout and applied it to a simple and powerful new ticketing platform native to Zaprite.

If you are planning a paid gathering of any kind, give it a try!

One week into the NFL season and

is in shambles. Maybe if he spent a bit less time trying to make lightning amazing and focused on pretend football he wouldn’t be so publicly embarrassed.

I’m shocked more people in TradFi don’t kill themselves once they realize their career is a farce and they’ve been working for some guy in Jackson Hole and they have no deterministic abilities in their professional lives.

GM. Paris ,Texas is bigger than Paris, France.

Happy Independence Day. The Cole’s are celebrating freedom in the mountains.

I much prefer sweating the small stuff and not accepting reality.

It’s pretty easy to consider the victory at San Jacinto by the Texans to be the United States second Louisiana purchase moment. This directly leads to the Texas annexation and statehood for Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

After extreme patience, on April 21, 1836, Sam Houston strikes at Santa Anna. The Battle of San Jacinto was quick and decisive. In under 20 minutes the Texian army killed 600 Mexicans and captured another 700. Texians death were under 10. Santa Anna cowered after the defeat, disguising himself as a private before being noticed in the makeshift POW camp. He negotiated for his life, and against the wishes of many, Houston arranged for his return to Mexico. The war was effectively over and the Republic of Texas was founded.

On April 3rd, 1836, the most consequential naval battle between the Texians and Mexicans occurred in the Gulf of America. Texians had to date been ineffectual in stopping Mexican supply lines, and it was critical to stop them as Houston drew Santa Anna further east. The Texas ship “The Invincible” - was anything but - pummeled the Mexican “Montezuma” after The Invincible maneuvered to run the Montezuma ashore before unleashing hell on the ship. Later the same day, the Invincible intercepted and American ship supplying Mexicans with weapons. These weapons were critical once rerouted to Houston’s army.

March 27, 1863 - Goliad, Tx

It’s been a somewhat quiet last couple of weeks for the revolution. Sam Houston is retreating, James Fannin got himself caught by General Urrea, and Urrea has been pleading with Santa Anna to spare the prisoners under Fannin lives. After marching to Goliad, Urrea is unsuccessful in convincing Santa Anna not to execute the prisoners. ~450 prisoners were shot under a ruse of forced labor under the direction Colonel Portilla of the Mexican army. While tragic for the Texians, the Goliad ordeal and how much time it took to resolve meant that Urrea (Mexico’s best general) would never join his force with Santa Anna’s. Between this moment and the Alamo, Sam Houston has the moral high ground in recruiting new troops to join the Texian cause, and the Mexicans lose their ability to recruit fresh troops from the local population. The Mexicans look like they’re “winning”, but in reality they are fucked. Divided in strength, and losing the hearts and minds of the population they want to rule.

On March 21st 1836 James Fannin, having disobeyed orders to retreat and join with Dam Houston’s main army, was captured by General Urrea and being marched towards Goliad in the Texas coastal plains. Santa Anna had already ordered that all prisoners - nearly 400 men - be executed and for Urrea to urgently join his main army pursuing Houston. Urrea wanted the prisoners spared, and wrote pleading for their mercy. He wasn’t just merciful, in many ways he was a superior military general than Santa Anna. Regardless, the Mexicans are arguing over a mass murder, and there are about to be hundreds of very unlucky Texians. Word travels slow though, so there’s time for Houston to continue to gather forces.

March 14th 1836. The dream of an independent Texas is at an all time low. News of the Alamo falling has spread, Houston is in (strategic) retreat, and Texas generals are disobeying orders. Notably, general James Fannin has been ordered to abandon Goliad and move east to Houston’s forces. Fannin, indecisive throughout the war, asks for reinforcements despite the plea to flee. He’s going to have a bad time in two weeks.

March 10th marks the beginning of Sam Houston’s “Washington” moment of the Texas Revolution. He hears about the Alamo falling and plans - against the wishes of nearly all his advisors - a long sequence of strategic retreats. They starve Santa Anna’s half of the army (he split with Urrea) of supplies and shelter as they retreat further east. Now they wait for the perfect moment, but not without some horrifying losses later in the month.

In March 7th 1836, this Santa Anna character is riding high. He’s killed Travis, Bowie, Davy Crocket and all but a few Alamo survivors. But the Alamo fight had taken ~500 of his best soldiers of ~ 2,000, and he still has no idea what he’s up against in Sam Houston. Houston is preparing his Runaway Scrape strategy moving East. Santa Anna is preparing to split his army. The Alamo will galvanize Texians and Americans alike. He’s so fucked.

I know it’s cliche, but we really are just getting started. Legislation is not as fast as EO’s , but America is screwed financially without embracing bitcoin, and this is a very logical FIRST step. There are people working hard on the next steps and enshrining and expanding this executive order creating a strategic bitcoin reserve. Bullish for America.

On March 5th 1836 William Travis drew a “line in the sand” asking those who would stay and defend the Alamo to cross and join him. They knew the final Mexican attack would come imminently. The colloquialism in a modern context - line in the sand - comes from this moment. All but one defender crossed the line to join the the final defense.

The Travis Letter. Texas founding father William B. Travis was a live player who shaped the world in his sacrifice at the Alamo. No reinforcements ever arrived.

February 23rd 1836 - the first day of the siege of the Alamo. The Texans were completely unprepared. Almost no food in storage, lots of guns but very little gun powder. By the end of the day, they knew what the odds were. No one other than official messengers and those sent to scavenge left.

The at bat that could redeem the family name, or perpetuate the cycle. A fine line.

Trump’s president, and the shaman is going deep on bitcoin with Marty. Not tired of winning.

Any executive order-that you don't want immediately reversed by a future administration-requires legislation to have a lasting impact. The SBR was never going to be a one and done order that put the United States on the right track. The SBR legislation from Senator Lummis has the long term vision of what a reserve could achieve for the country, and is not reliant in any way on an executive order. The right kind of executive order could help for sure, but is not necessary.

The bitcoin centric nature of the legislation comes down to credibility in achieving objectives for the United States that isn't bettered by adding centralized altcoins into the reserve. The reckless spending of my lifetime-and subsequent debt crisis we find ourselves in-can be eased by the United States adopting bitcoin in a reserve fashion. It's a low time preference plan that only works with a monetary asset with a fixed supply and unchanging monetary policy. There's only one of those in existence.

The SBR is far from dead, and doesn't need an executive order to succeed. Any EO with a basket of crypto is extremely unlikely to find any companion legislation and wouldn't achieve the time horizon necessary to have an impact.

“Scum” This is an absolute incredible promise kept from President Trump. He’s saved Ross Ulbricht’s life. Ross was deserving of mercy.

Gm. It’s Ross Ulbricht day.

The culture in the UK is so foreign to this Texan. Child rape in Ancient Greece has an (gross) ethos behind it, and it wasn’t shunned or secretive. But in the UK the people who revere child rape are secretive about their motivations. I’d love to learn more…
