Just pulled 30lbs of paste tomatoes out of the patch during some pruning and tying. Theres at least 5x that many not yet ripe. I think it might be a good year for salsa and sauce.

Check out this wooly bear I found chilling on my basil. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a blonde colored one before.

A few from Pickled pepper batch #2 so far. these are destined to be gifts at the big family gathering this Christma.

Another big ole haul of peppers. Gonna pickle the smaller pepperoncinis; will roast and freeze the larger ones for an upcoming salsa making project

Here are some maters I picked today. thinking about dehydrating some of these cherries.

This is maybe 20% of all the peppers on the plants rn. I’m not sure how much a peck is but I’m thinking about doing some pickling tomorrow.

Been doing so much dehydrating that my original Nesco started crapping out on me and tripping circuit breakers 😭 had to get a new one last week.

Here is a couple trays from the latest batch that’s running now. got opal basil, coneflower, calendula, cornflower (for the petals for adding a blue color to tea), and a MESS of holy basil all in there drying.

Got some handsome maters out there this season.

ULine catalog showed up today. I love the way they smell. Maybe I’ll order some boxes, a commercial sink, and some rugs later.

There is this tiny tiny little copper colored spider that keeps dropping down from the ceiling on his little web to check me out. Yesterday he landed on my arm, just now he landed on my nose 😂 each time I carefully get him onto my finger and guide him back to the wall next to my desk.

It’s this little game we play now, I guess. he’s so little that its hard to get a non blurry pic of him.

soaking the morning harvest of flowers . these will be dried for teas.

Marconi pepper, harvest shears for scale. Idk if they’re always this big but wow.

The propagation station (literally just my work desk) is looking good. The tomato suckers are rooting up nicely and the basil will be soon. I had a few of each of these die off in the garden so I’m firing up some replacements. My weird brain won’t allow me to just leave holes in the beds. #bloomscrolling

It’s like 1 degree warmer today than yesterday and His Majesty is laying in front of the fan.

the sweet potats are officially planted. only about a week behind my original schedule.

it’s getting to that time of the season where planting starts to get away from me and things get in later than I intended. while it’s not as bad this year as previous years since I tried to get a leg up on things in early spring, I think there are several tasks I should have still done earlier than I did.

one of these years I’m finally going to be on schedule with every crop.

Wild, I was just this morning semi-joking about wearing one of these during my outdoor chores.
