barbara findlay dedicated her life to making Canada a freer, more equal place, where 2SLGBTQI+ people could live with dignity. She challenged injustice, changed minds, and opened doors for those who came after her.

My thoughts are with everyone who knew her, admired her, and was changed by her work.

The UN World Food Programme just announced that its food stocks in Gaza have run out because of the Israeli Government’s blockade — food cannot be used as a political tool.

Palestinian civilians must not bear the consequences of Hamas’ terrorist crimes. The World Food Programme must be allowed to resume its lifesaving work.

Canada stands for international law and has recently committed an additional amount of nearly $100 million to support the UN and other trusted international partners in providing food and humanitarian aid.

We will continue to work with our allies towards a permanent ceasefire and the immediate return of all hostages.

We are in charge of our own future. We will build a stronger Canadian economy that works with reliable trading partners — and doesn't depend on the United States. #Debate2025

I met with Premier Smith in my hometown of Edmonton today. We had a detailed and frank discussion about the opportunities for Alberta and Canada during this time of crisis.  

Canada is fighting for our workers and our businesses against unjust U.S. tariffs and in a rapidly changing global economy.  

My government is focused on working with provinces and territories, Indigenous peoples, businesses, and labour to build the future with millions of new homes, new energy corridors, new trade routes with reliable partners, and one Canadian economy. 

We have to be strong as a nation — and we are stronger when we can work together.
