Are there any female devs working on #nostr? 🤨

Last year i wrote for Forbes about how people around the world use #bitcoin to defend human rights, resist censorship, and organize without permission.

This week i shared how we’re building

to support that work and why we’re now an

grantee ✊

My friend Abdul Maleek needs some zaps ⚡️ pls give him a very warm welcome to Nostr!

He’s doing the hard work on the ground to educate young people in Kaduna about #bitcoin

#nostr meetups next?

🧡✊

Designed this tee/hat for my dad’s birthday 😂 Always calls himself the “houseboy”

HAHAHAH ITS SHIT 😂 Trying #goose out now.

Oslo Freedom Forum #OFF has been the single most impactful conference I’ve attended besides #tabconf (obviously hehe) - I actually got face time with some serious activists and freedom fighters - people who need #bitcoin the most in this world. Don’t forget who we’re building for.

I’ve never been more inspired to build the necessary tools for these incredible people to organize, educate, and gather safely ✊

Thank you

for a life-changing week. I’m honored that you believe in the work I’m doing with

🧡🫶🧡

Fun fact - I met my husband

at OFF in 2021 😉

So we’ve setup Nostr Wallet Connect using the Bitcoin-Connect button at

staging environment. But a few things are not working as expected.

1 - When I have the Pay Now button, and provide it a BOLT11 invoice, it properly pays it, but I see this weird “NWC Error Validation” message in the component. Anyone know what this could be? Does this depend on the wallet implementation that’s connected through NWC? (I’m testing with

wallet)

2 - Through the NWC connection, do I still get access to webln module so we can do things like webln.lnurl() and so forth? How do I get a hold of that global variable?

Can fellow Nostr devs help us out?

#asknostr

What do you guys think of V0? Personally, i’m loving it. I’m not a dev at all and it’s pretty easy to use.

#vibecoding

Looks like I’m going to become a vibe coder. Stay tuned.

I am beyond proud to announce that

is now an

Bitcoin Development Fund grantee.

Evento is a not-for-profit, completely FREE events platform that anyone can use to organize events that bring communities together.

We’re leveraging freedom tech like #bitcoin and soon #nostr to ensure the platform is accessible to all.

Evento has already become the platform of choice for global conferences, bitdevs, bitcoin university clubs, hackathons, and so much more.

So, how will we use this grant?

✊ To support event organizers in the global south that educate their local communities on how Bitcoin, Nostr, and freedom tech can free them from oppression 🏗️ Build the most accessible events platform in the world specifically for educators, community leaders, nonprofits, activists and everyone in between 🧡💜 Integrate Nostr & build the first Bitcoin-powered ticketing platform in the world

We have so much more to build, and now thanks to HRF, we can innovate in a space that has exploited event hosts for far too long.

Give evento a shot! And please feel free to DM me directly on evento.so/bhd with your ideas and feedback - because I’m building this thing for YOU!

🔥 we had so much fun!

gave an amazing rundown on Lightning at the Bitcoin Kaduna Club in Kaduna, Nigeria.

So many inquisitive students who learned about Lightning for the first time.

They all set up their first Lightning wallets (shoutout to

⚡️⚡️⚡️) and we made it rain 🌧️

Give Abdul Maleek a follow - he’s doing amazing work at his university.

⚡Bitcoin on Evento is Smooth AF ⚡

I love how curious he is about the world around him. When we go for walks, he likes to go up to all of the apartment building entrances and look inside the glass doors. What I would do to see the world through his eyes!

👋 Meet our 3 Evento Campus Ambassadors in Kenya — students leaders running events that bring together hundreds of students to learn about Bitcoin.

About 50% of their attendees are new to Bitcoin, and we’re excited to run events together covering Lightning, Nostr, how to use bitcoin in everyday life, myths about Bitcoin, and more.

We’re even going to be running a hackathon together very soon. If you’re interested in supporting, please reach out to me on Evento!

They’re new to Nostr, so follow them and show them some love!
