I re-read this recently and have been thinking about it a lot ever since:
Chapter IV The Unity of the Church
Since the church of Christ is one body, united under and in one God and Father, one Lord, and one Spirit, it must give diligence to keep this unity in the bond of peace. To this end the church must receive those endued with gifts of Christ as Christ himself, must submit to those whose call to govern in the church has been properly acknowledged, and in particular must learn of those with gifts of teaching the Word of God. Further, since every Christian is endued with some gift for the edification of the body, he must minister this gift to the church as a faithful steward. Church government must maintain this fellowship in Christ and in the gifts of the Spirit and seek its restoration when it has been disrupted through schism.
It is the right and duty of those who rule in the church of God to maintain order and exercise discipline, for the preservation both of truth and duty. These officers and the whole church must censure or cast out the erroneous or scandalous, always observing the requirements of the Word of God, and seeking the honor of Christ's name, the good of his church, and the reclamation of the offender.
The manifestation of the unity of the church requires that it be separate from the world. Apostasy in faith and life is destructive of the fellowship in Christ; only by rejecting such error can Christian fellowship be maintained. There are many antichrists, many false apostles and teachers. From these the church must turn away, and those who steadfastly hear the voice of false shepherds and follow them cannot be regarded as the sheep of Christ. There are organizations which falsely call themselves churches of God, and others which once were churches, but have become synagogues of Satan. Communion with such is spiritual adultery and an offense against Christ and his saints.
The visible unity of the Body of Christ, though not altogether destroyed, is greatly obscured by the division of the Christian church into different groups or denominations. In such denominations Christians exercise a fellowship toward each other in doctrine, worship, and order that they do not exercise toward other Christians. The purest churches under heaven are subject both to mixture and error, and some have gravely departed from apostolic purity; yet all of these which maintain through a sufficient discipline the Word and sacraments in their fundamental integrity are to be recognized as true manifestations of the church of Jesus Christ. All such churches should seek a closer fellowship, in accordance with the principles set forth above.

...welp, the ARB bumber just paid for itself. Just hit an idiot deer. Hardly a scratch, would have been near a thousand to repair without it. Praise the Lord. A good decision.

I've basically lost interest in all things bitcoin since the Blake-whatever fork. IMO, the bitcoin of the whitepaper, the one that Ammous wrote about--that digital "incarnation" of sound, 'Austrian' monetary principle, that Hayekian dream of a 'sly, roundabout way' of separating money and State--has become zombified. It's a gollem. The borg has it. School me if you disagree, but know that I'm wise to the ways of Thiel and his 'dark enlightenment' and will hold no quarter.
If you don't mind sharing what you've done or are doing, I'm looking for ideas. it seems to me like there's only one real principled option, but I'm looking for wisdom from 'a multitude of counselors' before making my final moves. DMs on 0xChat or some other thing like that are fine if you'd rather not publicize.
Have a great day.

Any one of these doctrines should be enough to reject the Roman-Papist denomination:
11th century - indulgences - that you could pay money or perform some act to reduce the sentence of "purgatory"
12th century - "implicit faith" (Lat., fides implicita) - that you don't have to personally understand (and personally hold as true) the doctrines of Christianity, as long as you are "in communion with the learned"
13th century - transubstantiation - that by priestly magic the bread and the wine of the Eucharist are turned into the actual body and actual blood of Jesus (yet without looking, feeling, smelling, tasting, or feeling like flesh and blood)
16th century - justification by faith AND works, or by "faith formed by love" which is fancy-talk for faithfulness = obedience = works (have you even read the Bible, bro)
19th century - papal infallibility - that whoever gets elected as Pope is infallible (i.e., has the same amount of credibility and authority as the Scriptures themselves) in all matters pertaining to the faith (yikes too bad they contradicted themselves again and again)
19th century - the immaculate conception of Mary - that, because Christ could not come into contact with sinfulness, Mary herself, who bore him, had to first be sinless (yet by this same argument wouldn't Mary's mother have to be sinless? ad infinitum - zero mention of this in Scripture)
20th century - purgatory - the heresy that Christ did NOT actually suffer once for all time for all the sins of his elect, and we need to "top off" the suffering by spending thousands of years in purgatory--but that the Roman priests can, at will, "reduce our sentence" (have you even read the Bible, bro)
20th century - the assumption of Mary - mentioned in Scripture in precisely zero verses
...and so many more. The Roman magisterium coming up with new doctrines was (and is) like a bored congress coming up with new legislation to extract more taxes from its people and attempt to justify its existence.

AD FONTES
Martin Luther was not a "schismatic," he was excommunicated. Then people read the Scriptures for themselves ("trust but verify," anyone?) and saw that he was right. Then power structures that kept people enslaved for centuries fell.
"Do you have a coin for Christ?" "When a coin in the coffer clinks, a soul from purgatory springs" ?
Of course he protested. And we still do.
Luther open-sourced Christianity. Of course the power- and money-hungry tyrants kicked him out. And what an amazing turn of Providence that the Gutenberg press was available just before this happened--"so all the world may know."
Happy Reformation Day, all. Read the Word of God in your own language--and then give a nod of respect to a Protestant.

The Reformation was a renewal and return to "the faith once delivered to the saints." Here's a film with a low budget, a few big stars, and historical quotes that will give you the goosebumps. This happened.

Thank God for Martin Luther.

OsmAnd+ is horrible at finding street addresses pasted in from emails, contacts, calendars, etc. When I'm in a time-crunch, this is a real pain. I end up switching to the 'public' profile just so I can use Google Maps.
Just had Claude build me a middleware app that takes a street address (editable prior to lookup, in case someone forgets town or state etc), converts it to LatLong, then sends it to OsmAnd+ -- which then works like a charm. "Simple as."
Would share but it's nowhere near something I'd want you all to see LOL

anyone have a strong opinion (pro or con) on #starlink? we're paying almost $300 USD/month for high-speed (but no fiber) internet. US Mobile has an add-on for $55/mo Starlink.

TL;DR: What's the best AI on #umbrel for spreadsheet analysis?
Detail: I have an *.xlsx with private financial information that ONLYOFFICE claims has a 'circular reference' -- I know this is probably not valid because ONLYOFFICE still thinks triggers this if OFFSET() refers to itself (which is perfectly OK). The workbook is quite large and I want an agent to help me find whatever ONLYOFFICE thinks is a circular reference.
Would love to hear some suggestions. #umbrel has about 20 options, a free Claude version would be my preference, but open to ideas...
