Cat chaos update: I dropped part of a cat tree on a toe and we'll see if it's broken. I'm hobbling around and I told Oscar I have to go slow because "one of you could knock me down with a feather." If I see either of them with a feather, I'll know things have gone too far.

Some days are full of busy birds trying new things. Tufted titmouse tried drinking from small birdbath on the porch, home of bathing catbirds. 4 wrens showed up to have dustbath in an empty pot that squirrel had just dug around in.

I'm going to look into "blight tax" efforts, after talking to a shop owner in downtown Wboro.... Fantasy: city council gives owners who don't maintain buildings the option to convert (with help) to affordable housing etc.* or pay ever-increasing blight tax. *even though most buildings under discussion will have to be razed. P.S. I know nothing about these issues. 😒

I dumped ice from 2 birdbaths (1 is for cracker-dipping crows), and refilled them. Then I whistled special call and told them no thanks necessary.
