Daniel D’Aquino

I chose design thinking for my project because I want to build very human-centred tools, and I want this principle reflected at every step.

Design thinking seems like a great fit for this goal.

Does anyone have experience using this process in an indie dev context?

There is something fascinating about a slightly out-of-tune piano. It sounds mysterious and beautiful at the same time.

Update: I started collecting stories related to my project's theme (capturing references + brainstorming).

I wrote 10 highly specific stories from my own life, and then collected another 21 adjacent stories from the internet to start. I will begin looking for patterns.

Build in public update: I selected the theme of capturing observations, inspirations, and creative brainstorming.

I chose it because this is something I frequently try to do and believe is important: curious observation and creative thinking are innately human.

For my next project, I will build in public for the first time. Hopefully we can learn together!

For this project, I decided not to start with an idea, but rather a theme, and then I will try to apply the Design Thinking method.

I will post updates here as I go!

This paper is a bit old but really interesting. It deconstructs what it means to prototype and reframes it completely, going beyond the linear “low/mid/high fidelity” progression. Even a simple box can be a prototype in the right context!

I love using tools such as FigJam or Obsidian Canvas for collecting observations, ideas, and brainstorming on them.

However, I find it’s not very easy to use them when I am on the go and can only use my phone.

Does anyone else have a similar experience? What do you use?

Very interesting read

I have been experimenting with digital minimalism and trying out a "low-information diet", and I think I just found a great way for Notedeck to help me with that: A minimal deck with only two features: My notification inbox (so I can reply to important messages), and a way to make new posts. Excited to try out this "zen deck" for a few days! https://image.nostr.build/4f32331bbc771b093bb60f1e678552b38171c5da04e214b24f00ec083e9c99f6.png

I got tired of dealing with Javascript nonsense when creating web apps, so I've been experimenting with Dioxus (https://dioxuslabs.com), which has been a very enjoyable experience so far! If you like Rust and React, I highly recommend trying it out!

I ended up creating a UI library inspired on shadcn for myself, but decided to turn into an open source library: https://lumenblocks.dev

I hope this is helpful to any other Rust devs out there!

The project is still experimental, so I'd really appreciate your thoughts or feedback if you check it out!

Exciting times ahead! 🚀 🚀

Presenting nparrot!

https://github.com/Leaf-Computer/nparrot

With nparrot, you can now talk to your Goose AI agent while you are away from your keyboard (for example if you are outside touching grass✌️😜)

I put together an experimental relay for selective file sharing over #blossom and #nostr that allows users to upload files and selectively share them with other users, with the following features:

🚦 Uploaded files are not publicly accessible by default 🔓 Files become available only to nostr users selected by the uploader

I created this to help me experiment with the concept of collective backups and social recovery of files/photos, but thought it could be useful to other builders on the space, so I am publishing it!

Here is where you can find it (still highly experimental 🧪):

If you end up using this (or if you run into bugs), I would love to hear from you!

💯

Version 2 of this draft is out now with several improvements!

Tired of closed project management and productivity tools that don't quite fit your use case, but is also hard to extend/customize?

I wrote a draft for some new NIPs that aim to address these issues: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1767

If you have interest in building productivity tools based on Nostr, I would love to hear your thoughts!
