Good night nostr, it was an enjoyable day, even though it was overcast and a bit rainy the whole day. Our trip to a new plant nursery was fun, and of course i came home with a few plants. We just got back from a plant sale, hosted by the Native Plant Society. I found this dwarf barbados cherry (aka wild crepe myrtle) and couldnt resist bringing it home. I tasted one of the fruits and decided it was mine. #permies #gardening #BarbadosCherry

Ok, we cut the metal posts to length, and got them set in concrete. These will be the railings for the front porch, which rarely gets used, so its ok if they are not perfect. After the posts set up, we'll attach some handrails and call it done. #homesteading #AmateurWork

Good morning nostr, this morning i'll be working a volunteer shift at the church kitchen, then catching up on things around here. We've been going on our daily Gator rides with the dogs, just little drives around our property. I try to notice what's growing during the different seasons, but its not always the same thing. I think certain seeds require certain conditions to sprout, regardless of season. And when the conditions are perfect for that seed, then and only then will it sprout. I have gone several years without seeing a plant, and think it has completely died. But then there it is again, in its own time.
