Open Markets Foundation
The Open Markets Foundation exists to advance decentralized commerce by supporting open, interoperable, and permissionless marketplaces built on Nostr, Bitcoin, and sovereign digital infrastructure.
Our mission is to help transform scattered experimentation into a coordinated movement: one where builders, merchants, developers, and users can gather around shared standards, open protocols, and practical tools for free and decentralized trade.
Decentralized commerce needs more than individual projects. It needs coordination, education, standards, credibility, and long-term stewardship.
The Open Markets Foundation aims to serve as a neutral home for that work.
Rather than acting as a controlling authority, the foundation’s role is to support the ecosystem around open markets. It exists to help align independent builders, encourage collaboration, promote shared specifications, and make decentralized commerce easier to build, understand, and adopt.
We believe the future of commerce should be open, global, censorship-resistant, and user-sovereign.
Markets should not depend on centralized platforms, closed payment rails, or permissioned infrastructure. Builders should be able to create merchant tools, marketplace clients, commerce protocols, and payment experiences that interoperate freely.
The Open Markets Foundation envisions an ecosystem where commerce applications can compete on user experience while cooperating on open standards.

Stacker News Cowboy Credits Market Depth
https://4g0r4.github.io/cc-sat
I noticed an increasing demand for ccs/sats trades so I thought, as 0xbitcoiner, about finding an easy way to keep track of requests and visualize the data.
The current market includes orders from @0xbitcoiner, @Darthcoin, @ek, @nokness, @SimpleStacker, @Undisciplined, @thebullishbitcoiner, and myself.
I invite anyone looking to trade ccs for sats and vice versa to add a comment below, open an issue in the GH repository, or simply submit a PR. Here a template if needed;

The Gossip Vulnerability: Why NIP-17's "Deniable" Messages Aren't
The Nostr community should acknowledge this tradeoff explicitly. NIP-17 is excellent for censorship resistance and metadata privacy, but it's not suitable for truly deniable communications. Users needing real deniability should use Signal or Session.
The unsigned "rumor" provides psychological comfort but no cryptographic protection. The signed seal is the vulnerability, and it's unfixable without redesigning Nostr's entire authentication model.
This isn't a failure, it's physics. Cryptography has limits. The impossible triangle of decentralized, authenticated, and deniable messaging is truly impossible. Every protocol must choose its compromises.
Nostr chose decentralization and authentication. That's a valid choice. But calling the messages "deniable" because the inner layer is unsigned? That's not cryptography, that's marketing.
The gossip attack is real. The ZK proof works. And the rumor isn't deniable after all.

https://auktionen.sincona.com/en-us/auctions/lots/182854?part_id=674
Ancient Coins, World and Swiss Coins, Medals and Banknotes
Bitcoin (BTC). Series 2019, issued by Bitcoin Suisse AG, Zug, Switzerland. Within a floral-ornamented frame, with the issuer and certificate name, a seated Helvetia facing left, leaning on a Swiss shield and holding a sword in her right hand. In the field, a QR code and a covered area, below which are the signatures Vayloyan/Nikolajsen. Rev. Floral-ornamented frame with the issuer and certificate name. In the center, within an oval, ornamented frame, an aerial view of the city of Zug with Lake Zug, above it a small city coat of arms. To the right, a silver security strip and in the field next to it SERIES B/1ST EDITION 2019. Serial No. 10305. I / Uncirculated.
The second version of the crypto certificates (Series B) from 2019, compared to the first edition from 2014, has been equipped with new and much more complex security features. The certificates are issued for various names: Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV), Polkadot (DOT) and Crypto Francs (XCHF).
State-of-the-art brand and counterfeit protection solutions for these certificates, produced in a traditional, banknote-like design, guarantee cryptographic security. Each certificate has a public key/QR code, corresponding to an IBAN number, and a secret key.
To access the funds stored on the certificates, the coating of the secret, private key would have to be removed.

Posters to support Creators, Stackers, Cowboys & Bitcoin NPOs
Nearly two years ago already, we created the Wild West Posters initiative, as part of the Open Design Challenges, to demonstrate how a community like stacker news could create value, not only for its participants, but also to an entire ecosystem.
Here's the website www.Posters.BTC.pub
But why limit it only to wester movie posters? With the latest @Scoresby's 31-Word Horror Movie Review Contest initiative, we are seeing a new wave of posters coming up. We'd love to add them all to the collection, @deSign_r's ones are already ready for print. Reinterpret and redesign the movie poster with your next review. Turn your preferred movie posters into attractive Bitcoin ads.
@UCantDoThatDotRugged was the first getting a poster sale, getting some sats awarded for it, and we look forward to continuing doing so. Isn't much, but we want you stackers to decide what to do with the current sats received from current and future posters sales. Here are the options:

AGORA territory campaign design to create business awarness
This will be our third official campaign to market the ~AGORA P2P Marketplace territory and create more awareness inside SN community, as outside in the Wild West Web. A targeted advertising effort to reach the audience most likely to engage with SN and, more specifically, people that are aiming to trade peer to peer with Bitcoin as a medium of exchange.
The idea is simple, as we know, we humans are drive actions. We listed all the possible actions SN and in particular the AGORA could trigger in stakes and visitors, the results that came out are ZAP, BUY, SELL, STACK.
ZAP and STACK are peculiarly particular for stackers, but also a trigger for others interested in giving and accumulating sats. A invite and refers to the Value 4 Value model, that incentivize creators to offer anything without expectations on a Open Source Everything basis. People that will find it valuable, will be happy to zap some sats in exchange for the value received, allowing the creator to humbly stack some sats.
BUY and SELL are obviously unique actions we aim stackers will associate with the AGORA P2P Marketplace, but also a message for other businesses, merchants and individual sellers to know that there's a place for them to advertise and trade peer-to-peer using bitcoin as a medium of exchange.
As part of the campaign, we also launched a parallel sub-campaign that aim to highlight businesses, merchants and sellers currently advertising with the ~AGORA. You can find the ongoing, growing list here #https://stacker.news/items/1199616/r/AGORA and here our latest heros:
| @beejay | @Kontext | @PictureRoom | @thebullishbitcoiner | @BTCLNAT | @SalmaChan |
You will also see each stacker individually highlighted in the daily @saloon, and in our social accounts with the aim to not only promote the AGORA, but also the people that are making it happen. Hopefully we drive more business to them too.
If you run a website and want to have an excuse more to drive traffic to SN and hear some rewards, feel free to embed the assets listed above together with your referral link in your website, ecommerce, newsletter or any other social media channel.
Reach out to @AGORA or @AG if you'd like to harden our collaboration, so we can plan it together and improve its performances to drive meaningful engagement within your community.
We commissioned these banners for the campaign, simple, impactful, colorful and aligned with SN branding. So we shared the Stacker News Media Kit assembled by @Jon_Hodl and @deSign_r , together with the requirements. This is what we got! Find below all the assets and the relative https://image.media.links and [SN_shortcodes] to use across SN.

Cowboy Capitalists striking out to find their fortunes in the last Wild West

For maverick entrepreneur Ian Cox, Africa is the last frontier of free enterprise. In 2012 he nabbed a lucrative United Nations contract to transport equipment from South Africa to South Sudan, a country on many countries' embargo list.
The other problem: the journey north entails passing through countless checkpoints and dealing with bribe-happy officials and their nonsensical paperwork and regulations.
Photographer and filmmaker Tim Freccia followed around Ian and the guys he hired for this job. "Cowboy Capitalists" documents their attempts to navigate the continent's dangerous roads and bureaucratic chaos.

How to easily accept Bitcoin Lightning payments in Woocommerce via Coinos.io
https://github.com/reddatos/coinos-woo
I was really happy to see @coinoswallet and @adam_coinos_io team joining us here on SN and providing much useful info on their AMA https://stacker.news/items/660776 few weeks ago.
Coinos is one of the solutions merchants should consider to easily implement Bitcoin and Lightning payments in their business. It provides a superduper easy-to-understand interface, simple-KYC-free signup, an integrated POS that also work as an interface to receive external payments from customers without the need to signup. You can check ours here https://coinos.io/pay/agora
Here in the AGORA we had recently the opportunity to test it out and more specifically, I've been surprised how easy it was to implement in our sites we have build using open source software, WordPress and Woocommerce to be more precise.
The plugin is not directly supported by the coinos team, however has been implemented in just a few steps, and it allows the bitcoin payments gateway to be live and functional really quickly.
You can download the plugin directly from https://github.com/reddatos/coinos-woo
