The matsutake mushroom haul from our weekend foray into the mountains of Cascadia. Just a few hours on Saturday, covering relatively little terrain. We got lucky. We found a new honeypot right off the bat.

#matsutake month #uptober This is a pine-loving mycorrhizal fungus, a member of the Fungi Kingdom, only found in the wild near pine trees.

It connects to underground tree roots, giving vital nutrients in exchange for sugars produced by the Plant Kingdom

Matsutake have a unique smell like no other.

Uptober is the month in which mushroom sprout UP in profuse abundance! Matsutake month here in Cascadia!

This is a vinyl record sleeve insert from over 50 years ago, back when people said "it can't happen here."

So guys, how long till Mr. President renames the moon?

Moonlania, or something ridiculous like that

Someone once claimed that the BIP-110 fork would come storming back and somehow overtake the non-signaling fork. How is that even possible? Sounds a bit like wishful thinking, but such technical matters are really not my forte at all #asknostr

"A poisoned gas station burrito does not bring an end to Mexican cuisine."

-Adam Livingston on ColdCard exploit and the fate of bitcoin self-custody

somehow always struck me as holier than thou in terms of attitude and engagement, inflated by ego, and not very humble at all.

Coldcard was for a time on my shortlist when it came time to buy my first hww.

Thank goodness my ultimate choice was something different, and my funds are safe.

Actions and choices in life really are a roll of the dice.

Stay humble, stack up security measures, and gratitude is the attitude.

With humility and appreciation, Yours truly

Does anyone else got any more idiotic takes to share today? Pure slopp

Dreamin' of rockin' out in a music studio like this one. Touchin' grass, touchin' epiphytes, & making sound sculptures through the intermittent forest breeze

Pub art! This looks an awful lot like the WEEN logo, but with an interesting twist!

₿itcoin is looking pretty cheap lately. (SCOOP $€00₽!) Do you think it's going much lower?

My daily DCA timing seems OKish. What time of day (UTC) do you think is the best time to buy?

The ancients had luscious lotuses in perfect juxtaposition to swampy bogs.

Nowadays all we get is a fluffy unicorn in a grubby dumpster

Let your gratitude be the gift you receive for being present here and now, in the middle of nowhere

Slow down, touch grass, pay attention to the little details in your surroundings. Otherwise, you might miss the subtle magic nestled in each fleeting moment of life

My favorite way to describe a morel mushroom is "if you could take out your brain, and turn it inside-out, it might look something like that." #mushrooms

Morchella foraging again on a Sunday stroll. Bigger and greater in number than last week. Mighty tasty with bacon grease and a dash of salt with gusto #foraging #SpringSeason #Fungi #morel #morchella #mushroom #mycelium

Wowzers! There is also a variety of morchellas referred to as "landscaping morels," said to be found in urban areas and residential neighborhoods, usually growing out of landscaping wood chips. Today was my first time to come across a pair of these in the city. Nice surprise! #morchella #morel #mushroom #fungi #PacificNorthwest #Cascadia
