This week at Bitcoin Ekasi (7–20 July 2026), we paused our Bitcoin Diploma and Postgraduate classes during the school holiday break while our students are away. This has given our team the opportunity to focus on other important projects.

We're excited to share that the SateNet internet café structure has now been completed. Our next step is to brand the space with the Fedi and SateNet logos before opening it to the community.

We can't wait to welcome local residents when the internet café opens, made possible through Fedi's support. Thank you, Fedi, for helping us create more opportunities for the Bitcoin Ekasi community! 🧡

This week at Bitcoin Ekasi has been a productive one.

As schools closed for the Term 2 holidays, the students have been spending more time at the Bitcoin Ekasi Centre learning about Bitcoin.

We're also building a Bitcoin StateNet internet setup at our thrift store to provide affordable connectivity for the community. Many residents in Bitcoin Ekasi struggle with the high cost of mobile data, so this initiative will help make Bitcoin education and services more accessible.

A big thank you to

for making this project possible. Your support is helping us build stronger Bitcoin infrastructure for the community. ⚡🧡 https://blossom.primal.net/a719a0cbd49eb2bb82cce5e1f8520ea343ceea83e25759fe8c5f1f76e3129099.mp4

Another great week at Bitcoin Ekasi!

We continued running our Bitcoin Ekasi Center with diploma and postgraduate students, helping them learn about Bitcoin and its real-world use.

We also had the opportunity to host Black Sheep Media, who came to see the work we're doing on the ground. They were pleasantly surprised by the impact and progress of our project.

What I appreciate most is that they are a local production team telling local stories. It's exciting to see the world taking an interest in what we're building here in Ekasi and the positive change Bitcoin is creating in our community.

Bitcoin is designed for the next generation. Seeing my 4-year-old son spending sats from his own wallet brings me so much joy 😀

Giving children cash these days can easily lead to them buying things they shouldn’t. That’s why I’m teaching my son how to use a Bitcoin wallet from a young age helping him grow up understanding money in the digital age. ₿

My 4-year-old son can now spend his own sats using

at a local shop accepting Bitcoin payments ⚡️₿

Today he bought himself a bottle of Purity 😂 Now I finally understand the problem… when he was younger, he wasn’t eating it 🤣

This is massive 😳

This week at Bitcoin Ekasi was a strong one.

We had shack owners attending their Bitcoin education sessions, and Bitcoin Diploma students showing up consistently for classes in the first cohort of the program throughout the week.

We also celebrated Bitcoin Pizza Day with the community, where residents bought pizza using their Fedi Bitcoin wallets—simple, practical Bitcoin use in action.

On top of that, we hosted visitors from Bitcoin Karoo, which added great energy and connection to the work.

We also did shop visits to merchants accepting Bitcoin, just checking in to make sure everything is running smoothly and that there are no issues with their wallets or payments.

A full week of learning, community, and real Bitcoin usage in Ekasi.

Just bought a Red Bull with my ₿itcoin Ring⚡️ This is why Bitcoin is cool. Decentralized money. Sats on my finger.

My panel at Bitcoin Mena in Abu dhabi🇦🇪 was titled “Circular Economies as the Frontlines of Bitcoin Adoption."

At

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to

Thanks to their support, our coaches now have access to devices equipped with Bitcoin wallets, enabling them to utilize their weekly salaries at local spaza shops in the township.

This contribution is making a meaningful impact, and we are deeply appreciative of their kindness and commitment to our team.

My Last Day in Bitcoin Country – El Salvador

As my time in El Zonte, El Salvador, comes to an end, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible experience of living in a place where Bitcoin is seamlessly integrated into daily life Throughout my stay.

I relied entirely on Bitcoin for all my expenses, never needing to use the local currency.

This experience has shown me the true potential of a world where Bitcoin is widely accepted.

Thank you to the @Bitcoinbeach team🧡⚡️

I am committed to driving change and empowering my community through Bitcoin. I will continue to push forward until my people embrace this transformative technology and realize its potential to create financial freedom and opportunity for all.

I've been buying from this business with fiat for a while and encouraging the owner to accept Bitcoin. Today, I finally succeeded in getting him onboard!

Good Morning, from South Africa 🇿🇦

It deeply saddens me to see our communities continuously fall victim to scams, especially when we are working so hard to provide for our families with limited resources.

When someone tells me they have been scammed, I feel an overwhelming urge to ask.

Why didn’t you seek guidance at Bitcoin Ekasi Center before trusting your hard-earned money to someone?💔

Your support will help us build a dedicated learning space.

This Saturday, on the 24 of August, at our Bitcoin Ekasi Center, we will proudly celebrate the third anniversary of the

project. This milestone is a testament to the dedication of hard work and everyone who has contributed to making this vision a reality.

For the celebration, we will be sourcing our supplies from local shops that now accept Bitcoin as a form of payment. This choice not only supports our local businesses but also highlights how far we’ve come since the early days of onboarding the first shops in the township.

The journey was far from easy, but it reinforced a valuable lesson: if you are passionate about something, persistence is key. Keep pushing forward until you achieve your goals.

We are excited to celebrate our third anniversary with the residents of the township and local shop owners. If you're in the area, we would love for you to join us.

Convincing the supplier of local Spaza Stores to accept #Bitcoin as payment.

What has government done to our money?

Pay lunch with #Bitcoin

The new R100 note is only worth R82.59

Looked at differently, You would need R121 today to buy the same amount of goods R100 could get you in 2020.

That’s an average annual increase of 6.6% in that time.

We need #Bitcoin

I don't believe we shall ever have good money again before we take it out of the hands of government. We can't take it violently. All we can do is by some sly, roundabout way introduce something they can't stop.
