Meet Maple, the Personal Intelligence Platform

People grow increasingly uneasy with the amount of data they share with big AI apps. You know the feeling. It's that hesitation before you type something you might regret. Unfortunately, gaining better privacy by running your own AI locally requires hardware purchases, technical expertise, and ongoing maintenance.

A year ago we introduced the world to an easy-to-use AI they can trust by launching Maple AI. Since then, people have sent millions of chats, uploaded thousands of documents, and crunched billions of tokens through Maple. We proved that combining the privacy of local AI with the power and convenience of cloud AI actually works. Now is the time for the next iteration of that mission.

Today we are excited to introduce you to Maple, the Personal Intelligence Platform.

Built on a foundation of privacy, Maple enables people to tap into the full potential of AI by creating a space where you share details that you hesitate putting into other AI apps. That subtle difference makes Maple the AI for your real life. You can be you.

The platform consists of multiple apps built on the same encrypted foundation. Maple Agent has long-term memory, Maple Research is your secure workspace, and Maple Proxy is the encrypted API.

Imagine going about your day. Maple Agent reminds you that your friend started a new job yesterday, so you reach out to check how it went. At your desk, you open Maple Research to review the lease on a new apartment you're interested in and search the web for comparable terms, knowing that no advertisers will see your financial history. Over lunch, you tell Agent to add olive oil to your grocery list. Later, walking through the store, Agent brings up your shopping list. One platform for your whole day, powered by privacy.

To bring this platform to life, we needed a brand that matches the moment.

The New Maple Brand

Maple is not like other AI products. We actually care about your privacy rather than finding ways to harvest your data for monetary gain. Our logo acknowledges this and departs from traditional AI by not having a boring circular logo. Our name is our logo.

The letters that make up MAPLE are opaque, representing the encrypted nature of our platform. Abbreviated, it takes on its own personality.

Knowing that this rebrand needed more than a few great prompts, we commissioned Finite Supply to guide us through this journey. The resulting design is warm and serious at the same time. It belongs on your home screen next to other apps you use every day.

You can see the full identity on our new website at www.trymaple.ai. We rebuilt the site to explain this new future for Maple as a platform for people to leverage AI in their everyday life.

Maple App becomes Maple Research

The original Maple app has grown significantly since we launched it in January 2025. It started as a basic chat app, with a single model, that respected your privacy. But we didn't stop there. Over the next 12 months we added document upload, image analysis, powerful intelligence models, mobile and desktop apps, voice chat, and the biggest feature... live web search that privately brings realtime data into the chat.

With the latest addition of projects, pinned chats, and enhanced web search, what started as encrypted chat is now a full workspace where people upload documents, run deep analyses, and use the latest open-weight reasoning models inside secure enclaves.

That evolution deserves a name that fits. The app is now Maple Research.

Along with the new name comes a refined interface, a new icon in the updated brand style, and a smoother workflow for the kind of deep work you've already been doing. If you're an existing user, nothing about your account changes. Your data remains yours, encrypted as always. Update the app and keep working.

Maple Research has new capabilities as well. Organize chats into projects with shared instructions. Pin your favorite chats to the top of the history. Leverage enhanced web search that continues to dig until it finds what it needs.

Maple Research is where you go when you need to think hard about something sensitive and want the best models available without sending your data to a company that trains on it.

Maple Research is available today on web, iOS, Android, Mac, and Linux.
Maple Proxy is available inside the Mac and Linux app or as a standalone server app.

Maple Agent, the AI assistant that gets to know you

Some AI interactions are one-and-done. You ask a question, get an answer, and move on. But the most valuable AI relationship is the one that builds over time.

Maple Agent is a companion with long-term memory. It keeps track of the books you want to read, your fitness goals and progress, the people you meet, and insights about your life that emerge across weeks and months of conversation. It organizes everything inside your encrypted vault and surfaces what matters when you need it.

What sets Maple Agent apart from the other popular agents is ease of use. No dedicated computer and no technical expertise required. If you know how to text, you know how to use Maple Agent.

Agent isn't quite ready for the public yet. Join the waitlist today at www.trymaple.ai/agent so you are among the first to try it out.

As with everything Maple builds, Agent runs on the same privacy architecture: end-to-end encryption, Trusted Execution Environments, and open-weight models that never touch OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.

One Platform for You

We know people use many different AI apps. We do as well. The problem is that it sucks having to hold back on the things you say to AI apps because you aren't sure who is reading it on the other end. We want to give you enough tools so you can always be open and detailed. Maple Research handles your deep work. Maple Agent handles your daily life. Maple Proxy lets you plug your developer tools into the same encrypted infrastructure.

We built Maple because AI is most useful when you can tell it the truth about your life and your work. That only happens when you trust the platform holding your data. When you trust your AI, you are free to think. We earned that trust through open-source code, reproducible builds, and cryptographic attestation you can verify yourself.

To everyone who has trusted Maple with their work over the past year: thank you. You proved that privacy and power can coexist. If you're new here, welcome. We built this platform for you.
